GRANGE WALK is a rapidly improving seven-year-old and has been value for a good bit more than the winning margin on a couple of occasions over fences this season. He is highly likely to reverse Cork form with Poseidon after he came from the rear of the field in a very slowly run race where the winner was well-positioned.
It was a similar story behind Dunvegan here on his penultimate start, and he caught the eye, making up considerable ground to go down by just one length. There looks to be a good bit of pace today, and that will certainly suit. There is a form line that ties in with Blackbow over hurdles that suggests he doesn’t have too much to find, and the hood is left off the favourite today, which is intriguing.

Two against the field here simply because those towards the top of the market are far too short in comparison. FAME VALLEY was a blatant non-stayer last time when he tried over 2m5f for the first time and today drops back to 2m for his handicap debut off a lowly mark of 103.
He has caught the eye in some well-run races facing some stiff competition but has been out-paced, so I can see why connections were keen to go up in trip with him. However, the deeper ground over this trip could just be what he wants. He has plenty of stamina at this trip and looks very fairly treated.

WELL PLANTED was clearly ridden with handicaps in mind at Sedgefield last time on his final qualifying run, and his previous outing here at Ayr behind the useful and unbeaten Soft Risk looks a good piece of form.
He is best served by a flatter galloping track, so his two runs at Sedgefield should not be taken on face value. The ground is a slight unknown, but he will surely achieve more over hurdles than he did on the flat. It’s highly surprising that he is the outsider of the field, especially with the strongest course and distance form in the race.
