Horse Racing Tips - Daryl Carter Best Bets On Sunday, November 14

Our top tipster, Daryl Carter has seven selections for Sunday’s meetings at Cheltenham and Punchestown. Check out his tips below, along with an exclusive offer from William Hill for new mobile customers of Bet £10 – Get £40.

DOES HE KNOW – (1.10 Cheltenham, 2pts win – 11/4) (NAP)

DOES HE KNOW saddles a penalty here, but he was a very commanding winner at Chepstow when easily brushing aside Threeunderthrufive, and on that evidence, there is no reason to expect the form to be reversed.

The market has over-estimated the favourites latest performance at Exeter – a right-handed track for which he is 4-4. Threeunderthrufive jumped out to the right at Chepstow, and there is no guarantee he won’t do that again here. The selection also comfortable held Undersupervision before he crashed out over course and distance last time when under mostly hand and heels. The form from the Albert Bartlett last year is suspect.

At the time of running, I suggested that the race was a well below par renewal on ratings and given three of the selections rivals come from that particular race, it may pay to follow a separate form line with Does He Know. He is on the upgrade and is very unexposed at this trip and now has a 3/3 record here at Cheltenham. He should be favourite for this, and it’s a big surprise that he is not.

TELMESOMETHINGGIRL -(1.30 Punchestown, 1pt win – 11/2)

TELMESOMETHINGGIRL was undone by the 3m trip here at Punchestown back in April, but she ran with plenty of credit. The drop back in trip today is a big positive, and she recorded a blistering time figure at Cheltenham when scoring in the Mares Novice Hurdle.

She looks like a horse to follow over these middle-distance trips, and with a good record fresh, she could continue on her upward curve today. The weight is a slight concern, but it would be a shock if she wasn’t involved at the business end, and she has given a good beating to this favourite already.

ZAHAHIYR – (2.05 Punchestown, 1pt win – 9/2)

There is a sheer lack of pace in this race, so ZANAHIYR may get things all his own way out in front, and although he has plenty to find with a few of these, he could throw up a surprise on that basis.

He hasn’t reached the heights plenty expected, but he is still only a four-year-old, and he has time on his side. Abacadabras, Sharja and Echoes In Rain all like a strong pace to aim at and the favourite, although very talented, can be very keen, and this reappearance may see her pull her chance away. This has a tactical affair written all over it, so a chance is taken on the sole pace angle.

MOUNT WINDSOR – (2.55 Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 80/1)

Three stabs at this, but all three are 20/1 plus. MOUNT WINDSOR travelled very strongly through a race at Chepstow on the opening day of the season before dropping out very quickly, and that’s been a form line I have been keen to follow.

From that race, the runner-up went very close for us next time over 3m; the fifth ran second in a Listed event, the sixth scored at Cheltenham yesterday in very good style, the seventh ran well at Cheltenham on Friday, the tenth won next time as did one of the horses that pulled up.

Mount Windsor looked fresh as a daisy pulling his chance away but travelling strongly until three out. He is worth chancing at the prices for an upset here, given how progressive he was last season. He clocked some very smart time figures in 4 of his wins last term, and he benefitted from the outing last term. He has been dropped 4lbs for his return run, which looks absurd. He gets an each way shout.

ROWLAND WARD – (2.55 Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 33/1)

ROWLAND WARD also comes from the same race as above, and he did very well from an unpromising position and failed to see out that 2m4f trip.

The drop back to 2m today looks a good move, and he has some strong form throughout his short career and would have been a Grade 2 Novice winner at this venue if not for a denied run in the closing stages. Brian Hughes stays on board, and he has to be of interest with an improving profile.

MARIE’S ROCK – (2.55 Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 20/1)

MARIES ROCK is becoming a bit of a cliff horse for me, but she deserves one last chance after a step back in the right direction last time at Wetherby. She has bundles of talent, and the strong pace of this race should suit her.

This is her second start after a wind surgery and just her second in a tongue-tie. On the balance of her form this mark should be within reach, and it’s very interesting connections persevere with her. She has a big pot in here, and it could be today.

FLYING SARA – (4.00 Cheltenham, 1pt win – 5/1)

FLYING SARA is worth taking a chance on here at the prices after two very promising victories from two starts, and although she has been off for 400 days, she has proven to run well fresh with a year gap between her two wins.

She will be ridden prominently here, and that tactic is favoured on this old course. The form of both of her bumper wins has worked out well, and the yard think a good deal of her. Her weight allowance could prove to be a big factor in this contest, so she gets the vote with very few, if any, to run scared of in this contest.
