SHELDON (1.23 Fakenham, 2pts win 5/2)
SHELDON took a big step forward on hurdles debut to leave his bumper form well behind, finishing third in a strongly run rac eafter failing to handle the downhill run at Chepstow, where he made an almost race-ending blunder at the final flight before picking up close to the line.
He left plenty to work on there but his circuit time managed to eclipse that of the other winners on the same card bar the Juvenile Grade One Hurdle in which he was only 13 lengths slower, despite running on deteriorating ground and he clocked the same three out to finish time as Adagio even with that big blunder at the last.
He has almost certainly run-up to a mark of 125 + on that occasion and with improvement forthcoming he gets the nod over Sufi and Tonyx who have better days ahead of them.
