Daryl Carter looks to continue his good form with five selections at Newbury, Yarmouth and Haydock on Thursday. Check out his bets below.
[CREATIVE FLAIR] – (2.55 Newbury, 2pts win – 5/2)
CREATIVE FLAIR has left a good impression in her short career to date and lost nothing in defeat at York to the high-class Primo Bacio after racing a little freely on the front end of the pace. Today, the hood goes on to help her settle, and the step up in trip is a positive, providing the headgear works.
She looks like a class act in this field, and there is no doubt that York form will work out to be useful so she gets a good vote of confidence.

[ITKAANN] – (3.30 Newbury, 2pts win – 5/2)
Gin Palace is not the strongest stayer at 1m and would be seen to best effect over 7f, so I have to take him on for all he is the form horse in the race. ITKAANN is open to plenty of improvement and has a good record fresh scoring twice.
He was progressive last term and left the impression on final start at Nottingham when behind subsequent winner Turn On The Charm that there was plenty more to come. He will likely be going up in trip this season, but this straight mile is stamina-sapping, so it should suit him well, as will this small field scenario, so he gets a strong vote of confidence on return.

[BABY ALYA] – (4.20 Yarmouth, 1pt win – 11/4)
BABY ALYA was unfortunate not to get her head in front at Newmarket last time when denied a clear run off this mark, so is well worth another chance. She once held a Ribblesdale entry, so connections must think enough of her at home to think this mark of 73 is well within reach.
Her debut run at Newcastle has worked out well, with the runner-up now rated 88 and under these circumstances, she would now be in receipt of 15lbs, so there are reasons outside of her Newmarket run to think she is well treated. This won’t be easy, but there is plenty of pace to suit her strong travelling nature.

[REINA DEL MAR] – (4.40 Newbury, 1pt win – 4/1)
She lacks pace, but REINA DEL MAR is now finally going up to a more suitable trip, and that means she is open to plenty of improvement on handicap debut and should she be given a more prominent ride, she could prove hard to peg back.
Held-up over inadequate trips (latest on soft ground), she has been trained with handicaps in mind. Her pedigree doesn’t suggest this trip will suit, but what she has shown on the track does, and this is not the strongest of races, so she could upset this Stoute fav.

[IDOAPOLOGISE] – (7.30 Haydock, 2pts win – 9/4)
IDOAPOLOGISE put to bed the worry that his best performances have come at Beverley with an excellent run at Ayr last time doing brilliantly well from the rear of the field in a slowly run race. He finished third, beaten a short head despite giving first run to his rivals, and is turned out here 8 days off the same handicap mark.
The tongue-tie and cheek-piece combination remains on, and his profile now has a really progressive look to it, so it won’t be long in cashing in off this mark of 81. There are negatives with every runner in this race bar the selection.
Thibaan is up 5lbs for his effort at Newcastle last time and is not guaranteed to run the same sort of race back on turf, Caradoc runs over a trip too short on his return, Young Fire wants soft ground, Poets Dawn is handicapped to the hilt, and his best runs have come at Beverley. At the same time, Willie John needs the visor to have a dramatic effect.
