NORLEY – (4.25 Stratford, 1pt win, 2/1)
NORLEY bumped into a well-handicapped winner at Exeter nine days ago who benefited from an experienced rider in an Amateur Jockeys’ handicap, so that effort deserves upgrading. He is turned out relatively quickly after hitting the line hard for the first time in a long time, and he may now be about to start to fulfil his early potential.
He failed to stay 3m twice before that at Hexham and Bangor, and now over a more suitable trip for just the second time in a handicap, he can get off the mark. Luca Morgan takes off five pounds to effectively only put him 2lbs above his last outing, and a repeat should see him involved at the business end.

GLADIATEUR ALLEN – (4.50 Ffos Las, 1pt win, 4/1)
GLADIATEUR ALLEN shaped with a good deal of promise on occasions last term and rounded out the season doing best of those on the front end of the pace at Sandown in a competitive heat. He stuck on well despite being outpaced at the second last, which suggested a step up in trip could benefit him.
He was given some tough tasks and made his handicap debut as late as Feb, and although he ran with credit in both outings, there is a case to be made that the youngster was over the top. With that under his belt, he could prove a different proposition this year up to 3m, and there is surely more improvement to come.
With the ground in his favour and this new trip a source of improvement, along with the fact that many of these will be prepping for staying chases down the line, he looks a favourable choice at the prices.
