A 12lb pull at the weights may be enough for Paul Nicholls’ TIME TO TINKER to reverse form with subsequent winner Stellar Magic who saddles a double penalty. There was only 1¼ lengths separating the pair over course and distance in December and the selection looked green on the run-in so should know more this time around.
He is completely unexposed and will likely prove useful over further in time but he will be firmly in the mix at the finish should he take a step forward on that run then so a chance is taken in a good race for the grade.

EARTH COMPANY (5.00 Taunton, 1pt win 11/4)
EARTH COMPANY made a promising start to his career with a never-nearer fourth at Wincanton in November and, given the winner and the second have both gone in again, he looks one to keep on side.
He stuck on well in the closing stages and looked a shade uncomfortable on the good ground there so should benefit from this soft surface. The Skelton horse William Of York could pose a bigger danger than Gala De Corton but the time figure of the selection’s bumper run was good and he should take some stopping here.

RAFIOT (6.15 Southwell, 1pt win 4/1)
RAFIOT confirmed himself on an upward curve here last time out and the step up in trip should hold no fears given his running style and he has a less-exposed profile than the majority of these so will make his presence felt up in grade.
It will not be easy with three other last time out winners in the field but there looks to be enough pace on in this race for him to exploit so he gets the vote.
