VIVIDLY (1.10 Goodwood, 0.5pts each-way 12/1)
VIVIDLY caught the eye at Ascot when she was given a frustrating ride and she looks value at the prices given her effort here last term. She was one of just two winners that won from double-figure draws here last year from nine races over seven furlongs, the other was Billesdon Brook.
She sits on a handicap mark of just 84 and that could prove lenient now she is race fit and gets the services of William Buick. She is open to improvement and now drawn in stall 3 she may be able to dictate matters from the front.

DILITHIUM (1.30 Ayr, 0.5pts each-way 10/1)
DILITHIUM has shown glimpses of promise in his two starts this season but has failed to see out the 7f trip after travelling smoothly through his races. The drop back to 6f could see him in a better light and he has been overlooked in the market.
The unexposed three-year-old receives 5lb from his exposed elders and his two-year-old form suggests he should be able to leave this mark behind him. He has dropped 2lb in the weights in two runs this term in three-year-old handicaps but now arguably gets his easiest task to date.

ORNATE (3.45 Goodwood, 1pt each-way 20/1)
ORNATE is now 2lb below his last winning mark and he took care of today’s favourite at Beverly in a conditions race last year so the price tag doesn’t make much sense.
Add in the fact that he ran his highest rpr here at this meeting in a Group 2 when finding Battaash only 3 ¼ lengths too good and he becomes of serious interest. He has had two runs here but the other came a day after the above mentioned in the highly competitive Steward’s Cup over 6f and can be forgiven that effort.
If there is a track in the country that will suit his racing style it’s this one. There is plenty of early pace on here but they will be going too quick if they take on Ornate.

STOCKBRIDGE TAP (3.00 Ayr, 1pt each-way 9/2)
This is a good race but it’s worth taking a chance on STOCKBRIDGE TAP who looks ready for this step up in trip after not being seen to best effect behind Mambo Nights last time.
The winner set a slow gallop which wouldn’t have suited the selection but his previous form is enough to suggest he can get off the mark off this lowly handicap rating of 75. He ran Star Above close at Thirsk and that one has gone on to win again off a handicap mark of 76 and is now rated 83.
In behind was the 82 rated Margaret Dumont who ran encouragingly on debut and won next time out before chasing home Grand Bazaar at Newmarket in a useful contest. The fourth, beaten six lengths bumped into the useful Coltrane next time at Chepstow and he himself looks well treated off a mark of 72.
There is enough depth in the collateral form to suggest this mark is workable eased slightly in grade.
