GOLDEN LOVE – (1.55 Yarmouth, 1pt win – 5/2)
GOLDEN LOVE shaped with plenty of promise on just her third start at Brighton for this yard despite not handling the soft ground and being held up in a very slowly run race. She did the best of those from the rear and showed significant improvement from her two starts on the all-weather surface.
She has only been given a 1lb rise for finishing a nose second on that occasion, which looks lenient, and the step up to a 1m on that evidence looks a wise move. She caught the eye on debut on her only other start on turf over an inadequate six furlongs in a race that has worked out well, and she will surely be climbing the handicap system in the short term.

DONTASKMEAGAIN – (16.15 Yarmouth, 1pt win – 5/1)
There is lots to like about today’s favourite, but DONTASKMEAGAIN could easily have the run of the race with no other obvious pace angles. His two wins have come when making all the running, and he bounced back to form at Ripon behind a useful improver last time, shaping as though a stiffer test would suit.
Up in trip today and in a small field in which Franny Norton can dictate, he may be able to capitalise on his reduced handicap mark, and it’s interesting that there is no claimer on board given the racing weight he must give to the three-year-old market leader, so a chance is taken.

MUTASALLEM – (16.35 Bath, 1pt win – 7/2)
Marcus Tregoning has an excellent strike rate here (24%), and MUTASALLEM is the least exposed in the field. He is entitled to improve on his Lingfield effort on seasonal return in which nothing went right for him, and having been gelded, he could take a step forward.
On the balance of his two-year-old runs, he should be more than capable off of this handicap mark of 62, and the stiff finish here at Bath will certainly play to his strong finishing effort.
