Keep Busy looks the one to beat here, but WISE WORDS’ price means we get a freeroll at the favourite. The five-year-old has been highly progressive in 12 starts to date, with her only blip coming here ten days after an excellent and unlucky fourth at Doncaster in a Listed event after a 365 daybreak.
Connections have given her plenty of time since she went close at Bath with a Listed second behind a potentially very useful horse in Declaring Love, who subsequently finished ahead of Keep Busy at Haydock next time. Wise Words is almost certainly over-priced here and should have no trouble with the soft ground, so the dice is rolled.

TORONTO (6.30 Newbury, 1pt each-way, 11/1)
This looks wide open, so a chance is taken on TORONTO, who shaped as though a return to form was imminent at Chester last time on the back of a short break and would have finished closer to the progressive winner if not for a denied passage.
That was a step back in the right direction, and he is now effectively running off a handicap mark of 74 thanks to the claim of Laura Pearson. He is now 22lbs lower than when chasing home Without A Fight at Haydock over this trip on soft ground last term, and his latest effort was only his second since then over this trip, with his other probably coming too soon (9 days later than the Haydock run). He is worth siding with in an open event at a double-figure price.

TYPICAL MAN (7.00 Newbury, 1pt win, 5/2)
TYPICAL MAN shaped as though there was more to come off this higher mark when given too much to do at Windsor last time held up off a slow pace. He looks as though he wants further than this 7f, so the return to soft ground will certainly suit.
His record on this surface now reads 1/1, and after just seven career races, he has the scope to be better than most of these who have shown only average form at best.
