That being said 11/10 about the favourite is not a price I want to take so an each way chance is taken on PRINCE LLYWELYN for Kim Bailey who offered plenty of promise on chase debut at Stratford at the beginning of the season in a higher grade than this and was just found wanting at the business end after a 242 day-break and wind surgery. He disappointed at Huntingdon next time on soft ground after a couple of novicey errors early on but he is very lightly raced and showed plenty of potential in Novice Hurdles last term so back on better ground and after a good run in a jumpers bumper he may be worth siding with.

GROUP STAGE disappointed for this column at Fakenham but the sharp nature of that track didn’t suit and he was always on the back foot and his finishing effort wasn’t as strong as it should have been. The same comments apply to his run at Plumpton 8 days ago behind the useful Natural History in that he was caught too far back on a sharp track. That run came in a first time tongue-tie after wind surgery and was an improved effort on the clock than anything he had achieved previously and now contesting a galloping track and dropped significantly in grade, he may be ready to strike off a reduced handicap mark. This is a poor race and he has an each way chance under this 7lb claimer.
