The drop in trip to 6f for GIVE ‘EM THE SLIP could be exactly what she needs after being caught late the last twice over 7f at Lingfield and the form of her penultimate start looks very appealing in a race of this nature.
She also boasts strong form on her sole turf and 6f start from her debut run at Newmarket which makes her official rating of 73 look very lenient. I would work more on the basis that she should be rated in the 80s especially over this trip and that would mean that Avebury would need to produce a performance in the 90s here to give her 10lb.
Charles Hills makes the long 358-mile journey and has booked the top jockey for this course in the last five years with Joe Fanning and this is the trainer’s only runner on the card so she gets a confident vote.
