Horse Racing Tips - Daryl Carter Best Bets On Tuesday, November 2

Daryl Carter struck with both Champagne Well (advised 20/1) and Shandoz (advised 10/1) from just three bets yesterday and he has a further trio of selections for Tuesday’s racing. Check them out below, along with an excellent offer from William Hill for new mobile customers of Bet £10 – Get £40.

HITMAN (NAP) – (1.55 Exeter, 2.5pt win, 6/5)

HITMAN offered plenty of promise last season as a four-year-old and was thrown in the deep end on countless occasions, which would have done him a world of good for this season. He makes his handicap debut today in this valuable contest off a mark of 151, and on the evidence of last season, that looks more than fair.

The drop back to 2m today looks a very good move, especially on the time figure of his Henry VIII Novice Chase second to Allmankind, for which he was beaten two lengths and had Eldorado Allen well behind. Allmankind is rated 169 now, so today’s contest is the equivalent of Greaneteen replacing that one in weight conversion terms.

The 17 pounds he receives here from his stablemate is an excellent bit of placing by Paul Nicholls, and it’s likely Greaneteen has bigger targets ahead later in the year and is here to keep the weights down. He did too much too soon on his last outing at Aintree in a Grade 1 contest and was just outstayed at the finish over two and a half miles by one held up off the pace when again having Eldorado Allen in behind. He looks a solid bet today at Exeter.

JUST A STING – (2.55 Exeter, 0.5pt each-way, 22/1)

Make no mistake about it this is wide open, and plenty of these are handicapped to go well, but none more so than JUST A STING, who it does take a leap of faith to back, especially after his no show over hurdles on the first start for this yard. However, he earned his rating over fences, so disregarding his two runs in the last 12 months in a NHF race and his latest hurdle run is maybe for the best.

In that time, he has fallen 12lbs in the handicap effectively for two chase runs, and one of those came in the highly competitive Badger Beers. Before that, it was at Cheltenham and Kempton in Grade 3 company.

He needs to show a lot more, but he is down into a Class 3 for the first time since scoring here in 2018 off a handicap mark of 131, and his form figures at this track read 121. It’s not out of the realms of possibility that he puts in a better showing here at Exeter in first-time blinkers off this eye-catching mark of 123.

ENQARDE – (2.55 Exeter, 1pt each-way, 15/2)

This market has overlooked ENQARDE, and it’s easy to forgive his last two runs of the season over 3m4f and 4m – the latter in the Scottish Grand National when a blatant non-stayer.

He was a commanding winner at Ascot before that off a 6lb lower handicap mark, and the third went close in the Eider at Newcastle next time. He would have won or at least gone close in the Tommy Whittle if not for unseating in that contest, and the winner is now 14lbs higher.

He is very unexposed on these British shores after just five chase starts, and on the time figure at Ascot, he has to have a big shout back down to 3m. He has only had the two starts over today’s trip, both mentioned above, and his Ascot RPR of 139 suggests there is still mileage in this mark of 130 yet.
