ONEMOREFORTHEROAD – (1.30 Huntingdon, 1pt win, 7/2)
A hot contest for a Tuesday this, but ONMOREFORTHEROAD is the ready preference and looks the one with plenty of scope off of this handicap mark of 127. His bumper win at Newton Abbot has worked out well, and he was learning his trade in maiden and novice hurdles after that and showed signs of greenness on more than one occasion.
He took a good step forward in a novice hurdle at Stratford last time on seasonal reappearance when fighting off a promising newcomer, and the time figure was good for the grade and matched up very well to the other races on the card run over further.
He still looks ahead of the handicapper, and the return to this course where he scored by 11 lengths on his last visit looks like another tick in the right box. There should be a good clip on here with Ajero and Cabot Cliffs likely to make the running, and although he will be ridden prominently with the strong pace should suit him.

DOLPHIN SQUARE (NAP) – (1.37 Lingfield, 1pt win, 11/2)
A chance is taken on DOLPHIN SQUARE, who returns to hurdles off a fair mark of 134, and he is relatively unexposed with a record of 4-10 in this sphere. He has plenty of strong back form from last season, and he has failed to finish outside of the first two on the back of a break.
The return to a sounder surface also looks a positive for him with form figures of 2122412141 in his career under rules. He is back into a Class 3 race for the first time since Ludlow in 2020 when he scored in good style off a 2lbs lower handicap mark, and this looks a good place to start off his season for last year’s winning trainer.
Paul Nicholls also saddles Blackjack Kentucky, but the drying ground is certainly not in his favour.

He has a form line through Wonderwall that seemingly holds Marble Sands, but that one is also open to further improvement now tackling hurdles. Jordan Nailor claims three, which looks a positive move by connections, and he is open to plenty of improvement over this distance.
