It’s worth taking a chance on the unexposed MAGIC WARRIOR for Richard Hannon, who has just the one runner on the card today and books James Doyle, for which the pair have a 25% strike rate. He is unexposed at six furlongs and clocked a good time figure at Haydock on his penultimate start before connections sent him over 1m at Doncaster, for which he failed to stay.
The return to this six-furlong trip looks like a positive move, and any rain due will enhance his chances. He looks on a fair handicap mark on bits and pieces of his form, and he has excuses for his for four of his six runs to date, so he is entitled to improve again, and the standard is not set too high for him to surpass.

AVA GO JOE – (3.00 Nottingham, 1pt each-way, 11/2 – 5 places Betfair)
AVA GO JOE is completely unexposed over this 6f trip after just the two starts, and those two runs produce the strongest form on offer in this contest. He was no match for Pop Master at Doncaster when better than the bare result sixth of eight, but he took a good step forward at York earlier this month when second in a valuable Class 3 contest.
He showed a good attitude to stay on strongly there on good to firm, but a bit of rain (due all night Tuesday) will make more use of his stamina.

Everyone saw Raasel bounce back to form at Goodwood last time, and he is very unexposed but hasn’t been missed by the market and the overnight rain won’t enhance his chances. HEY MR has been given some tough tasks this season, but his form is pretty strong in the context of this race despite it being in defeat, and this is a big drop in class into a Class 5 event for the first time.
He also returns to the scene of his excellent win here on soft ground in October last term, and that form has worked out excellently well. The more rain that falls, the better his chances will be, but the handicapper has been quick to relent, dropping him 7lbs in five runs this season and is now back on his last winning handicap mark.
