Bravemansgame – (1.20 Cheltenham, 1pt win – 4/1)
This is a belter and Bob Olinger is certainly feared the most but BRAVEMANSGAME could still be anything and I have grown in confidence with the small field size confirmed at declarations. Paul Nichols clearly thinks the world of this horse but it’s the way he has improved with each run since being beaten by Betfair Hurdle winner Soaring Glory that has caught my attention. He travels strongly and intelogently takes his bends and his hurdles like an old pro and the manner in which he cleared away from Star Gate in the Challow Hurdle last time marked him down as a top class prospect. He has recorded some useful times and handles drying ground superbly and what’s under the hood is anyone’s guess but I am happy to take a chance that it is more than his rivals. He is an exciting prospect and one to firmly keep on side for fences next season but he may be the best of the middle distance horses already.

Koshari – (2.30 Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 15/2)
I am happy to stick with antepost fancy KOSHARI here and while he will need lots of luck in running, he is the choice of Paul Townend and he looks well treated on the balance of him form. The eye catching run at the DRF marked him down as a progressive horse to follow and this looks as though its been the plan for his master trainer.

Blue Sari – (2:30pm Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 10/1)
BLUE SARI has failed to deliver on his early promise but on the balance of his form a British mark of 138 significantly underestimates even the small amount that he has achieved so far. The market support has been strong for him and his PU effort last time at Leopardstown was baffling as he was only given a run around at the rear of the field before pulling up (no effort asked). The tongue-tie now goes on and he now steps up in trip and the last time he ran over further than 2m he beat The Bosses Oscar (151) at Punchestown on Hurdle debut.

Sceau Royal W/O Chacun Pour Soi – (3.05 Cheltenham, 1pt each-way – 6/1)
The ground is quickening up all the time and that will suit SCEAU ROYAL who offers excellent value at 11/2 W/O the favourite. The nine-year-old has some rock solid form this term including when a good winner of the Game Spirit Chase last time out and he was only beaten 3 lengths in this race 2 years ago by Altior. The English challenge is weak here and he will surely fill the frame with the ground drying all the time. His highest top speed figures have come on this old course and he rates a serious player at the prices.

Sir Gerhard – (4.50 Cheltenham, 2pts win – 2/1)
SIR GERHARD has impressed in two bumper starts this term after demolishing his rivals in an Irish Point to Point and looks sure to play a big hand in next year’s top Novice Hurdles. An impressive 14 length winner on debut at Down Royal under nothing more than a hand and heels ride he impressed with the manner he pulled clear of his field and clocked a useful RPR for one making his debut. His latest Listed effort was even more impressive as he quickened up off a slow pace in heavy ground and he looks just the type to appreciate a quicker surface. He rates a top class prospect and although the change of stables before this race is not ideal he is in good hands with Willie Mullins and rates a bet at the current prices.

Cool Jet – (4:50pm Cheltenham, 0.5pt each-day – 40/1)
COOL JET is one worth taking a bit of a flyer on at a big price in a race that has a habit of throwing up large SP winners. His first start came at Leopardstown at Xmas a race that Willie Mullins has used for the likes of, Allaho, Blackbow and Bacardys in the past and although beaten he put that effort firmly behind him next time at Thurles. He powered clear of his field in February in the style of a good horse and looked as though he hated he heavy ground on that occasions and it may be that the yard holds this horse in higher regard than the price suggests so a chance is taken.
