This is undoubtedly going to be fought out between SAGE ADVICE and Goodbye Stranger and the latter is not passed over lightly and while they have both run good time figures and hold similar form claims, it is the former that is fancied. The selection jumped well at Kempton and recorded an excellent time figure on the final circuit to win eased down. On my figures he ran to a mark between 128 and 130 and with improvement forthcoming he looks a useful Juvenile to keep on the right side. He looks more polished than Nicky Henderson’s double green runner who is not entirely straight forward (wears a hood), has work to do in the jumping department and may have benefitted from a strong early pace at Newbury so needs to answer those questions today.

ICONIC KNIGHT – (3.25 Lingfield, 1pt win – 4/1)
Another chance is given to ICONIC KNIGHT who was given a frustrating ride over course and distance last time out when beaten ½ a length but is able to run here off the same mark and he is still unexposed over 7f. Stall 10 could prove an issue but this bigger field will ensure there is a strong early pace on and that will certainly suit his hold-up style of racing and he is one of the more progressive horses in the field so gets the vote.

UNDERSUPERVISION – (3.40 Warwick, 1pt each-way – 13/2)
A competitive race but UNDERSUPERVISION could prove to be well ahead of the handicapper off this opening handicap mark of 125 and a quick switch to this sphere after a good performance when fourth at Kempton could pay dividends. An easy win at Hereford on rules debut probably didn’t see the best of him with the sharp track not playing to his strengths and the same can be said for the speed track at Kempton. He held his own in a very strongly run final circuit time at Kempton under a penalty and bumped into an above average type from the Paul Nichols yard. He showed signs of greenness when under pressure and its likely he has plenty more to come after just two starts over hurdles and looks a fair each way price.
