NATURAL COLOUR still looked green at Nottingham when out-running her odds of 28/1 and being denied a clear run. That was a big step forward on anything she had achieved previously.
That race on paper looked a strong event, and coupled with some collateral form, this opening handicap mark of 73 now upped further in trip looks exploitable. Sean Kirrane is good value for his 5lbs claim and effectively sees him mount run off a mark of 68. Nothing in this race looks thrown in, and the drop in trip for favourite Missile doesn’t look an obvious plus.

DASHING DICK – (6.35 Yarmouth, 1pt win – 4/1)
DASHING DICK has shown more than enough to suggest that a mark in and around 74 is workable, and he has shaped well in more competitive races than today. There looks to be a strong pace on offer, which will suit and Laura Pearson’s 5lbs claim could make the difference to allow him to get his head in front.
He is unexposed over 7f after just five starts and has a willing attitude. He also comes out on top on speed figures, so he is worth siding with at the prices.

NOORBAN – (7.05 Yarmouth, 2pts win – 2/1)
Emperor Spirit is the unknown quantity dropped back to 6f for the first time, but his best work has come at the finish of his races over 1m and 7f, so given he is the market leader, he must be taken on. NOORBAN looks to have an excellent opportunity should the favourite find this all too much.
The drop back to five furlongs last time at Doncaster was the wrong move by connections, and they can be rewarded with this step back up in trip. She is unexposed at six furlongs on quick ground with just the one start and a career-best start at that under her belt, which had one of today’s rivals in behind.
