Daryl Carter brings five selections for Wednesday, with runners at Ayr and Nottingham. Check them out below.

**[REBEL AT DAWN] – (2.35 Nottingham, 2pts win – 7/2)
This looks like a good opportunity for REBEL AT DAWN, who drops back to 5f after not seeing out the stiff 6f at Newmarket in a highly competitive handicap behind the smart Jumby. He was an excellent third here behind a useful one on seasonal return and then found the run at Thirsk coming too quickly.
He races off the same mark here as his Newmarket run and finds himself in a weak race and one in which the favourite Crimson Sand has been poor on both turf starts.

[GET KNOTTED] (3.23 Ayr, 0.5pt each-way – 11/1)
Two bets here, and they are confident ones but hard to split. GET KNOTTED has shaped as though he is well worth another try over the 1m after lacking the pace over shorter recently.
His last attempt at this trip was a 5th at York in a Class 2 0-100 race, and this is a far cry away from that now 19lbs lower. He goes well here at Ayr, and the quicker ground at this trip shouldn’t be an issue.

[HAJJAM] (3.23 Ayr, 1pt each-way – 10/1)
HAJJAM is 15lbs worse off at the weights with the above, so another reason to keep him on side. He was beaten on soft ground last time out and now has a record of 0-7 on that surface, so that doesn’t concern.
He needed the run here on return and could prove a different proposition now returned to a 1m, now race fit. His last win came over course and distance off a 6lb lower mark, but his form here over 7f the last twice when chasing home Rearna and Ascension is the strongest on offer. His form figures here at Ayr read 72251211, and he has won off of higher marks in the past.

[SEVENAL] – (3.40 Nottingham, 1pt win – 3/1)
This is a tricky race, but I have learnt over the years that if Frankie Dettori makes the journey on a weekday for one ride, it pays to follow it.
SEVENAL doesn’t look straight forward, and the cheek-pieces go on for the first time, but he hit the line very hard at Windsor and almost looked as though he hadn’t raced. He is open to improvement to defy this opening handicap mark of 84.
[BACK SEVENAL HERE]
[ALIENTO] – (4.25 Ayr, 1pt win – 11/2)
ALIENTO returns from a break, but he is hard to ignore in this race off a 6lb higher mark than his career-best effort last September. He won very comfortably at Catterick and was on an upward curve – enough to suggest that he could defy this new handicap mark.
He has won fresh previously and would have won over course and distance but was badly hampered three starts ago. Although Harvest Day goes well at this time of year, this won’t take much winning.
