This is a good contest, but OLD PORT is absolutely thriving at the moment, and this extra distance today should see him continue his improvement. His latest win at Kempton was an excellent effort, quickening twice down the home straight, and the handicapper has been very lenient with just a two pounds rise.
He is the horse that arrives on the up, and while he faces some useful rivals, they are weighted to their best. The biggest danger may come from Emblem Empire, who is unexposed but looks high enough in the handicap on what he has achieved. David Evans’ horse has more to offer yet.

CLASSIC BEN was going great guns when coming down at the third last here on his latest visit to Exeter, and given he usually comes on for his reappearance run – he is likely about to bounce back to form.
He has fallen a long way in the handicap down to a career-low mark, and the last time he tackled a marathon trip like this was in a Class 2 contest at Sandown off 130 when a staying-on fourth. That was a good effort, and today’s drop in to class 3 over this trip off an 8lbs lower mark makes him of significant interest. He should go off favourite for this.

PEMBERLEY is unexposed, and he has been knocking on the door over these trips – catching the eye before coming down at Lingfield making swift headway. His penultimate start when second to Go Whatever at Plumpton in the Sussex National was a career-best, but he found that track too sharp.
The handicapper has given him a big chance off the same mark in similar company here, and he has untapped potential at this marathon trip.
