Broken Halo looks like a horse on the up, but FANTASTIKAS has proven himself in better company than this and done little wrong in bumping into the improving Threeunderthrufive and L’Homme Presse the last twice.
That pair and The Glancing Queen are the only horse to have finished in front of him over fences, and this testing surface should bring his stamina into play. He stayed on well at Cheltenham but was outpaced over 2 1/2 miles in the closing stages, and the step back up in trip looks a good move by connections. He is still improving, so he could have plenty more to offer yet.

METIER was a huge eye-catcher at Ascot last time when travelling strongly on the front end of the pace in a well-run race but being denied a clear run at the second last, and it’s highly likely he needed that run after pulling up at Sandown.
The deeper ground here will greatly benefit him, and the handicapper has been quick to relent, dropping him 5lbs in two runs this season. His Grade 1 Tolworth win under similar conditions is fresh in my mind, and I had him running to 150 on that occasion. Back on deep ground for the first time since and in a weaker race than his latest, he makes plenty of appeal with Sean Bowen back in the saddle.
