DORKING LAD drops in class on the back of his excellent win at Wincanton last time, taking the scalp of a rock-solid rival who has since run well at the same venue chasing home a course specialist.
His previous effort here at Huntingdon also reads well, and he has plenty of scope off of this handicap mark should the cheek-pieces that have gone on the last twice continue to have the desired effect. He hit the line very hard at Wincanton, and there shouldn’t be anything good enough to stop him going in again in this contest, so he gets the vote to make it back to back wins.
BACK DORKING LAD HERE AND GET MONEY BACK IN CASH UP TO £40
NOMAN – (7.00 Newcastle, 2pts win – 11/4)
NOMAN returns from a 303-day break, but he displayed such promise last term as a three-year-old that he is very hard to pass over in this contest, and because of the lay-off, we are getting a reasonable price. He offered plenty to work on – on debut – at Newmarket when he was all at sea on the track in a hot Maiden for which the winner is rated 100.
He was beaten just five lengths there, and he since won twice without breaking a sweat. His form looks strong, and this opening handicap mark of 85 could significantly underestimate him. He is worth chancing that he is fit and well first time up. He has a promising future and has to prove he has trained on, but this level of opposition is far beneath him.
