HIGHLAND STING makes the journey across the sea for his handicap debut off what looks like a lenient handicap mark of 113, and it’s clear that connections have had this route in mind after catching the eye under tender handling in Ireland the last twice.
He has bumped into some useful types in his last two runs, and I am not convinced the Thurles track has suited him for which he has raced three times in his five runs. He is better judged on his Maiden Hurdle 2nd to Churchstonewarrior, which has worked out well. This yard has an excellent strike rate with handicap debutants.

Honneur D’Ajonc was flattered at Exeter by making all of the runnings on the inside rail in testing conditions at a track where it has been challenging to make up ground from the rear all season. It could pay to take a chance on THANKSFORTHEHELP, who caught the eye in a lesser contest at Huntingdon but recorded a good time.
He did well from the rear of the field and finished off his race very strongly, and the winner of that contest (runs in the following race at odds on) had chased home Balco Costal previously and is rated 121. David Pipe’s horse has caught the eye in two starts now, and although it’s slightly risky given he gets a handicap mark after this run, he does look like a good bit of value.
