Nordic Combined – (1.30 Fontwell, 1pt win – 9/2)
He is not the most reliable and his attitude does need questioning but he is undoubtedly well-handicapped and despite being beaten out of sight the last twice NORDIC COMBINED can capitalise on a reduced mark. He was in the process of running well here on his first start of the season off a handicap mark of 131 and held his form well in highly competitive handicaps. He is now down to 1lb above his last winning mark and it’s interesting that connections remove the tongue-tie and blinker combination and replace for the cheek-pieces and that can go one of two ways but he is now 14lbs better off with Mount Windsor for a 13 length win at Taunton back in March. There is no doubt Mount Windsor is improving and is a better horse now but the percentage call at the prices is to side with Nordic Combined who was in the process of running well at this venue earlier in the season before a stumble.

Truckers Pass – (2.32 Fontwell,1pt win 5/4)
TRUCKERS PASS has been disappointing on the whole but the level of form he has shown even in defeat should be enough to land this race and a return to a sounder surface will only be a positive. He is worth keeping the faith especially in a poor race like this and the presence of Richard Johnson on his back gives confidence.

Ginger Du Val – (2.40 Catterick, 1pt win – 5/1)
GINGER DU VAL ran with plenty of promise at Wincanton on first start for this yard despite being beaten 17 lengths. She was entitled to need that run after 397 days off the track and she screamed potential improver, so in a race that lacks depth she could run away with this contest. She was useful in three bumpers in France and the clock backs up her first start in the Britain so she is worth taking a chance on at the prices with doubts over the favourite who has no hurdling experience and Sashenka has been well held the last twice.
