Huntingdon & Ffos Las Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 1 March 2026

Huntingdon & Ffos Las Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 1 March 2026

Only two horse racing fixtures take place on Sunday 1 March, as National Hunt action comes from Huntingdon and Ffos Las. Our in-house tipster Steve Chambers looks through the form and picks out his Lucky 15 tips for a quiet day’s racing.

Huntingdon Racing Tips (Sunday 1 March 2026)

Six races get under way at Newbury at 2.00pm with four hurdle and two chase races. We have two selections for the day here.

2.45 Huntingdon – Icare Grandchamp (1pt win – 3/1)

A three-quarters-of-a-length winner at Plumpton last time out, Icare Grandchamp can make it two wins on the bounce for Gary & Josh Moore. Beating Alto Alto that day, the pair pulled 29 lengths clear of the third, so showed some decent form. Given a 4lbs rise by the handicapper he is up in grade, but looks capable of continuing on an upward curve. Mahons Glory and Westerninthepark look the main dangers.

14:45 The CopyBet John Bigg ‘Oxo’ Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

4.15 Huntingdon – Moyganny Phil (1pt win – 9/4)

Fourth in two maiden hurdles so far, Moyganny Phil will be sent into handicap company for the first time in the 4.15pm contest. Olly Murphy’s charge hasn’t been disgraced on those two starts and off a mark of 100 should figure here. He will have the burden of top weight, but there’s very little appeal in a lot of others. Champion jockey elect Sean Bowen will be in the saddle, which is a huge positive, so he could be one that makes notable improvement for a switch to the handicap sphere.

Ffos Las Racing Tips (Sunday 1 March 2026)

There’s a seven-race card at Doncaster that gets under way at 1.50pm, with four hurdle races and three chases. Two selections complete the GG Lucky 15 for Friday afternoon’s horse racing.

4.00 Ffos Las – Moorland Rambler (1pt win – 3/1)

A game winner last time out, Getaway With You looks to follow up quickly in the 4.00pm at Ffos Las. However, he may struggle to deal with the top-weighted Moorland Rambler for Jane Williams. A winner of this race last year, he’s only 3lbs in the 2026 renewal, so has the capabilities of retaining his crown. He’s been running well of late, without getting his head in front, but this looks a contest with lack of notable depth, so he could well deliver the goods again in West Wales.

16:00 3A’s Horsebox Hire And Sales Handicap Hurdle

4.30 Ffos Las – Chief Sunday (1pt win – 9/2)

A dual winner over hurdles, Chief Sunday struggled over fences, so a recent return to hurdles is a positive. Dropped 3lbs by the handicapper, the Nigel & Willy Twiston-Davies-trained raider will line up off 112 here. He will be another that has the burden of top weight, but if he can find his best form then could well land the money. Down the other end of the handicap Inion Tiogair looks a danger, but Chief Sunday could outclass him.
