Soft ground is likely to be the order of the day at the two National Hunt fixtures in the UK on Thursday 19 February. Huntingdon and Sedgefield provide action over the sticks, and our GG Lucky 15 focuses on the jumps racing.
Our tipster Steve Chambers delves through the form guides and picks out his best bets at both meetings.
Huntingdon Racing Tips (Thursday 19 February 2026)
Small fields are the order of the day at Huntingdon, which kicks off at 1.06pm. Check out our best bets on the card.
4.01 Huntingdon – After Many Days (1pt win – 2/1)
Henry Daly’s After Many Days remains a maiden after 16 runs, but she’s been knocking on the door of late and can taste victory in the 4.01pm contest at Huntingdon. Second behind Queen Of Steel at Leicester last month, she was well beaten by three lengths. However, she pulled 22 lengths clear of the third, so is entitled to have that run respected. She’s been given a 2lbs rise for that outing, but there’s still potential off 87 in this mediocre event.
4.36 Huntingdon – Dangerous Touch (1pt win – 3/1)
Thruthelookinglass is entitled to be well fancied for the final race on the card at 4.36pm, but he’s still yet to record a victory, so is worth taking on. Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen team up with Dangerous Touch, who can land the prize off bottom weight. A faller at Ffos Las last time out, you can ignore that effort as his tumble came at the first. Prior to that fall he was a very good third in a competitive Ayr event. If he can replicate that effort here off 107 then he looks capable of landing the prize.
Sedgefield Racing Tips (Thursday 19 February 2026)
It’s a 1.23pm start at Sedgefield, with six races taking place on Thursday. We pick out two selections for the action at the northern track.
2.33 Sedgefield – Spike Jones (1pt win – 100/30)
Spike Jones has been putting up some creditable efforts over hurdles of late in tough assignments. A seventh at Windsor was followed by a fourth at Sandown, but Thursday’s task looks easier. Sam Drinkwater’s charge heads to the 2.33pm at Sedgefield having been dropped 3lbs. Taking his chance off 113, he also has the benefit of his jockey taking off 7lbs as well, so he could outrun his odds. Plenty hold strong chances here, but Spike Jones could return to winning ways off a mark 1lb lower than his last winning mark.
3.43 Sedgefield – Tread Softly Now (1pt win – 15/2)
Unsuited by two miles last time out, Tread Softly Now will return to two-and-a-half miles for the 2.33pm at Sedgefield. His last victory came over the trip, and while he’s 12lbs higher he could be capable of recapturing the winning thread. Prior to his last run, he was a decent second at Kelso, so if he can emulate that display then has to be considered. Charlie Maggs will take a valuable 5lbs off his back for this event, so he’s attractively handicapped to land a blow in a competitivelooking betting heat.
