A whopping ten races take place in front of the ITV Racing cameras on Saturday 26th October and the main action comes from Cheltenham and Doncaster in an afternoon that has a bit for everyone. Our in-house tipster Steve Chambers previews all the action and picks out his best bets across the terrestrial racing…
2:20pm Cheltenham – William Hill Committed To Top Prices Handicap Chase
A hugely competitive 3m 1f contest, all eyes will be on the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Broadway Bob, who is likely to be sent off favourite for this event, but there’s an Irish raider in the shape of SENIOR CHIEF that can bound to glory for Henry De Bromhead. Last seen pulling up in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse, the seven-year-old had previously grabbed a battling victory in a beginners chase at Punchestown and he looks to have a lot more to give over fences.
The seven-year-old is still lightly-raced over the larger obstacles and a mark of 142 looks interesting if he can bounce back from that Fairyhouse disappointment. His second to Minella Cocooner three starts ago is excellent form and a repeat of that effort here should see him be on the vicinity and he can storm up the hill to grab success.

Cheltenham Tips – Best Bets For Saturday at Prestbury Park
Cheltenham racecourse is back hosting jumps racing. It is a time to rejoice for jumps fans, and through their seven-race card on Saturday, we have four best bets. 1.45 Cheltenham – William Hill Betting Done Properly Novices’ Hurdle Intense Approach’s second in the Persian War may be the standout form on paper, but that looked…
Thu 24 Oct 20242:40pm Doncaster – William Hill Futurity Trophy Stakes
It’s a wide open renewal of the Group 1 Futurity Trophy at Doncaster at 2:40pm and the likes of Wimbledon Hawkeye and Hotazhell look leading contenders for the event. However, Charlie Appleby can reign supreme for the second year in a row as the unbeaten ANNO DOMINI can maintain his unbeaten run and land this prize for the Godolphin team.
Ancient Wisdom claimed victory for the Appleby operation last season and it’s Anno Domini that can retain the crown this year. He’s showed huge promise on his two starts and he idled in the closing stages of a Sandown victory last time out and the step up in trip should bring on significant improvement and he can throw his hat into the ring as a potential Guineas contender next season.
2:55pm Cheltenham – Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle
Gordon Elliott’s THE WALLPARK has been in tremendous form of late notching up three victories on the bounce and the Cullentra House inmate can make it four wins on the bounce in the Pertemps Network Handicap at 2:25pm. A win at Kilbeggan and a brace of victories at Galway, the six-year-old will face his toughest test to date here, but is capable of improving again.
He’s been doing all his best work in the closing stages of his races over 2m 6f, so the slight step up to three miles at the weekend shouldn’t be an issue. The likes of the top-weighted Botox Has and the in-form Zain Nights will be two lively rivals, but it’s the Elliott raider that can land the prize.
3:30pm Cheltenham – Masterson Holdings Hurdle
Second in the Punchestown Festival Grade 1 4YO Hurdle at the end of last season, Gavin Cromwell’s Bottler’secret is a warm order to kick off this season with a win the Masterson Holdings Hurdle at 3:30pm. He could be a very exciting performer this season, but he will be having his first start of the season and it could be worth taking him on with DODGER LONG, who has been in superb form this season.
Harriet Dickin’s charge was a winner at Warwick in September and then followed it up with a victory at Chepstow earlier this month, where he cruised to a nine-length success. He will be in receipt of 8lbs from Bottler’secret in this contest and having showed his fitness already this campaign then he can make it three wins on the bounce.
