It’s the final day of Glorious Goodwood on Saturday afternoon and four of the races will take place in the front of the ITV Racing cameras, while there’s a brace of racings shown live from Newmarket. Our man Steve Chambers previews the live terrestrial action and picks out his four best bets, which includes a 25/1 selection in the Stewards’ Cup.

2:05pm Newmarket – British Stallion Studs & Tony Morris EBF Fillies’ Nursery
Roger Varian’s MISS FASCINATOR broke her maiden tag at the third time of asking last time out at Ascot, where she was an impressive two-and-three-quarter length winner, and she can build on that effort and land victory in a hugely competitive nursery event at Newmarket at 2:05pm. Handed a mark of 85 for this event, she has to improve on that Ascot win, but she seemed to relish the quick ground that day and could easily improve again.
The likes of Art Design and Griselda are notable rivals in this contest, but Miss Fascinator could kick on immeasurably from that confidence-boosting win last time out and she can land this prize with aplomb before going on to bigger and better things later in the season.

Matthew Sutcliffe’s Goodwood Tips – Weekend Value in Four Tips for Saturday
Saturday heralds the final day of Glorious Goodwood 2024. Matty Sutcliffe aims to end the week on a high with four best bets. 1:50 Goodwood – Coral Glorious Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (4yo+) – Lion’s Pride 11/2 1.5pt WIN LION’S PRIDE has always been held in high regard by the team at Clarehaven, and…

2:25pm Goodwood – Coral Summer Handicap
Sixth in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot, Andrew Balding’s FAIRBANKS improved significantly on his next outing when bounding to victory in a competitive Newmarket staying handicap last month. The four-year-old son of Nathaniel will have a much tougher test on hands in the Coral Summer Handicap at Goodwood at 2:25pm on Saturday off a 6lbs higher mark, but he could still be capable of scoring off a mark of 100.
He looks to have the potential to become a potential Group stayer in the future and while the Charlie Johnston-trained Align The Stars has to be respected it’s Fairbanks that can continue his rapid progression and land back-to-back wins.

3:00pm Goodwood – Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes
If FREE WIND can bring her A game to the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday then she should win, as the John & Thady Gosden-trained six-year-old has some very smart form on her CV, which includes a second placed finish in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks. She put up a bold bid when second in the Middleton Stakes at York last time out, where she was trying to retain her title, and if she can repeat that effort then she should be the one to beat.
That was the mare’s first start of the season, so she’s entitled to improve significantly for that outing and with the ground likely to suit then she can outclass the likes of Caius Chorister and Melo Melo, who appear to be the biggest dangers on paper.

3:35pm Goodwood – Coral Stewards’ Cup
There are so many in with a chance in Saturday’s highlight, the Coral Stewards’ Cup at 3:35pm, but the one to side with is SEVEN QUESTIONS, who looks hugely over-priced and can land the prize at 25/1. George Scott’s three-year-old was a Group 3 winner of the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket earlier this season, but he’s since struggled to sparkle over five furlongs.
Well down the field in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Kodiac gelding will not only step up to six furlongs for this event, but also the drop back to handicap company should see him be able to perform better. He won twice over six furlongs as a juvenile, so the step up in trip shouldn’t be an issue and whilst he’s not the most straightforward he is undoubtedly one of the class acts of the race and off a mark of 106 he can land the coveted prize.
