6.00 Yarmouth – tote, Never Beaten By SP Racing League Race 2 Handicap

Good Good Good is a very short price in here, albeit not as short as he was when winning a Leicester novice event at 1/66 last month. He followed that preposterous triumph with a runner-up effort on his handicap debut for which he is up 2lb, and preceded it with a win over this course and distance.

However, he is not obviously so well-treated as to be such a clear market leader, and preference further down the betting is INGRA TOR. The five-year-old has not been an overly prolific winner, but after some low-key efforts in 2024, he ran a good race to be third at Doncaster over a similar 6f to Yarmouth.

Given how that race worked out with the leading duo finishing closer to the centre than Ingra Tor’s near side rail, his effort can be upgraded and down 1lb more in the handicap, the principal for the London And The South team can claim race two.

The market suggests this is the most open race of the bunch on Thursday evening. Once again, the youngest generation may be worth passing over for one with much more experience in the shape of MOSTAWAA, who also gets the benefit of Jack Doughty’s 5lb claim. The young rider is in fine form with seven of his last ten rides finishing in the top three, including a 40/1 shot at Lingfield on Tuesday.

His mount here may now be eight years old, but he won twice last summer over 1m-1m1f, following up a late May success at Brighton. He missed the entirety of July 2023, but he may be entering his peak once again, having fallen 10lb in the weights since last August despite running some decent races at times.

Crucially, the dive in the handicap is primarily due to an unsuccessful stint in Dubai over the winter, but his two runs back in the UK have seen him finish third in 14 and 17-runner handicaps. He remains off the same mark of 75 here, but with the useful claim factored in within a race bearing no standout, he looks a good each-way prospect.

One who seems too big a price considering the relatively competitive nature of the race is MOULIN BOOJ, the balance of whose form is very solid and may well be progressing given his mark remains near its hilt and he has gone close the last twice.

It is possibly because two of his three wins have come on the all-weather that he is a sizeable price. However, he has a decent run over course and distance to his name when third this time last year before his significant improvement arrived in the latter half of 2023. His return to turf in 2024 has seen two defeats of less than two lengths, resulting in another drop of 1lb down the weights and given this was the section of the calendar in which he started storming up the handicap last year, he is showing signs similar could occur again.

He is without a win in seven starts so far, but ready preference is for BOLDLY, who surely looks a winner in waiting in staying handicaps for George Boughey. The four-year-old has been in contention in all four of his handicap starts since struggling to make an impact in maiden and novice company.

Boldly gradually stepped up through the distances, with form of 342 over 1m2f, 1m4f, and then 1m6f. The last of those three starts saw him finish just half-a-length behind the winner, while the last of five that day has won since. He was also an eyecatcher when dropped back to 1m4f at Wolverhampton just a week later, and though he is up 1lb overall and cheekpieces go on, there is a strong chance they help him and he can belatedly record a first career win.
