A whopping 11 races will take place in front of the ITV Racing cameras on a Super Saturday of Flat racing, as the action comes from Newmarket, Ascot and York. Our tipster Steve Chambers has taken a look through the bumper day’s sport and picks out his best bets for the afternoon…

2:00pm York – John Smith’s Racing Handicap
Simon & Ed Crisford’s TELEMARK was an impressive one length winner at Thirsk last time out and the improving three-year-old can build on that effort and claim a valuable handicap prize at York at 2:00pm. The Night Of Thunder gelding has been given a 5lbs rise for that success, but the manner in which he scooted clear suggested that a mark of 97 is feasible.
The likes of Elnajmm, Blue For You and the hugely consistent Northern Express are notable adversaries, but Telemark looks to be in the form of his life and he can rocket to a mark in the 100s by claiming victory in this hugely competitive event.

3:10pm York – John Smith’s Cup Handicap
There’s a hugely competitive renewal of the John Smith’s Cup Handicap at 3:10pm, but the one to side with is Roger Varian’s ENFJAAR, who was an impressive winner at Chelmsford City last time out and will be looking to defy a penalty in this event. This is a notable step up in class at York, but the manner in which he won that contest means the 5lbs penalty may not be enough to continue his progression.
Still lightly raced with only six runs on his CV, he competed in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, and while he failed to a land a blow there he seems to have improved for being gelded. He comes here full of confidence and can make it two wins out of two this season in what is another superb betting heat for punters to enjoy.

4:00pm Newmarket – bet365 Bunbury Cup
It could be a superb day for the Crisford team as they can land the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket at 4:00pm with AWAAL, who will have the burden of top weight in this event, but is the class act in the contest. Third in this race 12 months ago off a mark of 105, he will take his chance off 102 in this year’s renewal, so has to be respected.
He has some excellent form in red-hot handicaps and while this being his first run of the campaign being a slight worry he has shown he has the class to put up bold showings in these events. Carrytheone and Gorak are two notable adversaries, but Awaal could just have too much ability for his rivals here and he can prevail.

4:35pm Newmarket – My Pension Expert July Cup Stakes
A strong batch of three-year-olds will take their chance against the older horses in the Group 1 July Cup at 4:35pm, which is the feature race of the day, but there’s one that stands above the others and that is Kevin Ryan’s INISHERIN, who was last seen storming to victory in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot a few weeks ago.
Vandeek and River Tiber are another brace of the Classic generation taking their chance against proven older horses in the shape of Kinross and Khaadem, but Inisherin looks to be the premier 6f sprinter around at the moment and he can enhance his already lofty reputation. Hugely consistent, he serenely went through the early stages of the Commonwealth Cup before kicking over two lengths clear of his rivals. This is much tougher, but there’s no suggestion that his improvement will stop, so he’s entitled to be the market leader and he can secure a second Group 1 win on the bounce.
