Race 1 – 4.00pm Nottingham – Sky Bet, For The Fans Fillies’ Handicap

There’s a solitary race from Nottingham to kick off the ITV7 on Sunday afternoon and the one to side with is Steph Hollinshead’s ANGEL SHARED, who struggled on her comeback run, but does have some smart form in the book from last season. She struggled at Chester last time out, but had previously run well at Beverley, so if she can emulate that outing then she has to be a major contender for glory.

Race 2 – 4.15pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet Club Restricted Maiden Stakes

Eve Johnston Houghton’s CAITRINHO put up a decent effort when third on debut at Newmarket and the Nando Parrado colt should be able to build on that effort and land the maiden event at Chelmsford at 4:15pm. One of the only ones lining up with experience, Caitrinho could bump into some improving youngsters, and while the betting is certainly worth watching he could be the sensible pick here.

Race 3 – 4.45pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet Extra Places Handicap

Third at Newmarket in last round of the Sunday Series, Charlie Johnston’s ARTISAN DANCER is back for another crack at the live ITV racing event and he could be an attractive betting proposition for the 4:45pm at Chelmsford. A previous all-weather winner, the five-year-old did run a solid race off a mark of 82 that day and he takes his chance off the same mark in this 1m 6f contest. Having contested a Northumberland Plate earlier in his career (finished 16th), he’s obviously held in high regard and at decent odds he is the selection.

Race 4 – 5.15pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet Price Boosts Handicap

Jamie & Saffie Osborne team up with THUNDER BLUE in the 5:15pm race and this four-year-old son of Blue Point has been struggling in recent times to get involved at the finish, but he has been seeing his handicap mark drop significantly and he could be attractively handicapped to go well in this event. Rated in the 90s at his best, he contested a competitive handicap at Royal Ascot last season, where he came ninth. A winner on the all-weather at Wolverhampton off 85, he takes his chance off 87 after disappointing at Chester last time out. The return to the all-weather could bring about some improvement and he can land the spoils for connections.

Race 5 – 5.45pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet For The Fans Handicap

This time last season, NIGHT ON EARTH was winning a competitive Epsom sprint handicap off a mark of 75 and also landing a Catterick prize off 81 to taste more victory for Ian Williams. However, in recent outings he’s been finding life hard, but he’s toppled back down to a mark of 76 and if he can recapture any sort of form then has to be a key plater in the 5:45pm race. He struggled over six furlongs last time out, so a drop back to five here should suit and if Charles Bishop can get to the front through the early stages then he could well be hard to reel in.

Race 6 – 6.15pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet Build A Bet Fillies’ Handicap

An excellent three-and-a-half length winner at Chelmsford on debut back in February, Ralph Beckett’s LIKEALOT was then sent to Newbury to contest a Listed contest, but could only finish sixth that day. However, the daughter of Camelot will make her handicap debut in the penultimate race at Chelmsford at 6:15pm and off a mark of 85 looks a real good punting proposition. She’s A Warrior could be a notable adversary, but the Beckett-trained filly is certainly worth another shot and having excelled on the surface earlier this year then she can get her head in front for the second time.

Race 7 – 6.45pm Chelmsford – Sky Bet Proud To Support RoR Handicap

It could prove to be a profitable day for the abovementioned Johnston at Chelmsford on Sunday, as he can saddle another winner in the last race of the night in the shape of URBAN SPRAWL, who will carry top weight in the 6:45pm contest. A runaway four-length winner at Lingfield Park on his last outing, the five-year-old has been given a 5lbs rise by the handicapper for that success, but he shaped like he could still be improving and a replication of that run surely has to see him go close.
