A whopping £50,000 jackpot is up for grabs in the ITV7 for Friday’s action at Glorious Goodwood, so all you need to do to win a share of that bumper pot is pick out seven winners from seven selected races. With quality action taking place at Goodwood, that dominates the ITV7 and here at GG we aim to pick out the seven winners and give our reasonings for the selections.

Race 1 – 1:20pm Goodwood – Coral Goodwood Handicap
Hughie Morrison’s KYLE OF LOCHALSH was fourth in this marathon contest 12 months ago and the five-year-old looks capable of improving on that effort when bids for glory in the 2025 renewal on Friday. Lining up off the same mark of 97, the former Ascot Stakes third has shown he really excels over these marathon trips and he can strike gold here to get us off to winning start.
Race 2 – 1.55pm Goodwood – Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes
An impressive Listed winner last time out at Newmarket, Opera Ballo is a warm order to land the Group 3 Thoroughbred Stakes at 1:55pm, but the Godolphin charge could be vulnerable to the classy COSMIC YEAR, who has some very smart form in the book. He also has a Listed win on his CV, while he chased home Field Of Gold in the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh. He disappointed in France last time out, but a return to British soil and a drop in grade can see him sparkle and land the honours for Harry Charlton.
Race 3 – 2.15pm Southwell – Prestige Safety ‘Your Trusted Safety Partner’ Handicap
A course-and-distance winner last month, IRISH DANCER is looking to taste more success at Southwell on Friday and is the selection in the 2.15pm contest. Not out the first two in his last five races, the hugely consistent five-year-old was last seen winning at Thirsk and he has every capability of going in again here off a 2lbs higher mark.

Race 4 – 2.30pm Goodwood – Coral Golden Mile
John & Thady Gosden’s FIFTH COLUMN has been hugely progressive this season and has racked up three wins from his last four starts. A winner last time out at Newmarket, the three-year-old Kingman gelding will have to carry a 3lbs penalty for that success at Flat HQ, but he could still be comfortably ahead of the handicapper and off a mark of 92 looks capable of claiming victory in this hugely competitive contest.
Race 5 – 3.05pm Goodwood – King George Qatar Stakes
Australian sprinter Asfoora is a red-hot favourite to claim victory in the Group 2 King George Stakes at 3.05pm, but having failed to taste victory on these shores since last season’s King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot then she could be worth taking on. Karl Burke’s NIGHT RAIDER is a real fast starter and dropping back to five furlongs for this rapid sprint he could be capable of pulling clear of his rivals early on and duly maintaining an advantage all the way to the finish line.
Race 6 – 3.25pm Southwell – Prestige Safety Fire Risk Assessments Handicap
Roger Fell’s WOODLEIGH does only have one win in 21 outings, but he’s been knocking on the door of late and a repeat of his second placed finish at Catterick just over a week ago would see him feature prominently here. He remains on the same mark of 56 for this contest, so has every chance of backing that run up and he’s the tentative selection.
Race 7 – 3.45pm Goodwood – Regent Seven Seas Cruises Bentinck Conditions Stakes
Haunted Dream won this race last season, but has struggled to find any decent form of late, so is one to take on, as is Liberty Lane, who was way down the field in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot. John Smith’s Cup winner FOX LEGACY had previously finished sixth in the Royal Hunt Cup, so is entitled to take his chance at a higher level and Andrew Balding’s charge looks progressive and could have another improvement in the locker to land this.
