4.35 Salisbury – CHILLI QUEEN (1pt win – 3/1 bet365)
Six three-year-olds in a row have won this 1m4f handicap, immediately cutting potential options in this race by a third. They are shortened further when considering that four of those six had won on their previous start, three of those having racked up multiple victories in succession heading into this race, which leaves us with CHILLI QUEEN for Emma Lavelle.
A daughter of Havana Gold, she has clearly inherited some of her dam’s stamina (has two National Hunt siblings) and has racked up a hat-trick this season at Wolverhampton, Kempton and Ascot. She is up another 5lb for her most recent success, but she was firmly in control and trainer Emma Lavelle, better known for her jumpers, is enjoying a very profitable flat season (runners this term +£14.75 to a £1 level stake).
7.15 Chelmsford – MEDINILLA (1pt win – 3/1 bet365)
There are a few profitable angles when it comes to following MEDINILLA as a Jack Channon-trained runner on Thursday. Channon is in great form for one thing, with four winners from his last eight runners at the time of writing, while his three-year-old runners also give us two healthy pointers: those running on the all-weather in 2025 are 12/31 (39%) for a +24.24-point level stake profit, and his three-year-olds in handicaps are 16/58 (28%) for an even greater +30.9-point level stake profit. Of those tracks at which Channon has sent out 30 runners or more, his highest strike rate is at Chelmsford too, with his charge here a very plausible improver back on the all-weather with one of her two wins coming on such a surface at Wolverhampton in May.
