This Saturday, the world of racing remains firmly in the Christmas spirit, with huge meetings from Kempton & Leopardstown continuing on 27 December 2025.
GG tipster Joe Napier has picked out our lucky 15 best bets across those two cards, with selections in significant contests such as the Desert Orchid Handicap Chase and Paddy Power Chase.
Kempton Racing Tips (Saturday 27 December 2025)
Kempton’s card may not possess the Grade 1 sheen of Boxing Day on the 27th, but there are still a pair of Grade 2 prizes to be won, with three of our tips coming from their Saturday card.
1.20 Kempton – Audacious Annie (1pt win – 8/1)
It was not the strongest race in which Audacious Annie was second last time out at Warwick, but it was easily the mare’s best performance of the season so far. It arrived from a greater emphasis on stamina over 2m5f on good-to-soft ground, renewing some of the promise she showed back in the spring, when twice a winner in maiden and novice company. Jamie Snowden’s charge goes up to 3m here, but the way she has been keeping on over intermediate distances suggests this should bring about further improvement from her and a mark of 113 does not overrate her on the evidence of the previous campaign.
2.30 Kempton – Thistle Ask (1pt win – 7/4)
He has stormed miles up the weights since joining Dan Skelton, but the manner in which Thistle Ask has put his rivals to the sword this season has been startling and the winning thread may well continue in the Desert Orchid Handicap Chase. His win at Kelso in October came off a mark of just 115, but he then landed a Grade 3 handicap at Wetherby upped 6lb before his most impressive display of the bunch, winning the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter when 5lb out of the handicap off 132. He simply ran the will out of his rivals that day and though the handicapper has punished him with a rise of a stone in the handicap, he looks capable of improving enough to defy it.
3.37 Kempton – Indemnity (1pt win – 11/4)
Even the minimum National Hunt trip of 2m appears to stretch Indemnity as he has failed to see out the finish at Ascot and Newbury the last twice. However, those have been in very strong races, bumping into some impressive and well-handicapped winners. Emma Lavelle’s five-year-old is fancied to join that latter category, as he has only gone up 3lb for placing in those two recent contests and Kempton’s 2m hurdle course and good-to-soft, or potentially even good, ground is as gentle a test of stamina as possible. He could easily relish conditions and score with a bit to spare.
Leopardstown Racing Tips (Saturday 27 December 2025)
Leopardstown’s card ramps up on Saturday with two Grade 1s as well as the Paddy Power Chase. It is in that latter race, a big-field handicap, where we have selected a tip for our lucky 15.
3.00 Leopardstown – Sa Majeste (1pt win – 12/1)
JP McManus’s colours are usually carried with distinction in this race and can be so again by Sa Majeste for Willie Mullins. The seven-year-old looks likely to be fairly handicapped for this contest on some of last season’s form, with his victory over Affordale Fury at Fairyhouse particularly notable, while he was third in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham off 3lb higher than his mark for this race, albeit in Britain. He posted a low-key return effort at Punchestown, but that was over only 2m5½f and it is notable that he was not the McManus first string that day, whereas he looks set to be today with Mark Walsh aboard. A rating of 139 can underestimate him even in this competitive contest.
