A bumper day’s racing on Saturday 21 February sees six fixtures take place across the UK & Ireland. Our GG Lucky 15 for Saturday focuses on two of the star meetings of the day, as we head to Kempton and Newcastle for the best bets of the day.
Our tipster Steve Chambers takes a look at the two fixtures and picks out his four selections for a cracking day of action.
Kempton Racing Tips (Saturday 21 February 2026)
Seven races take place during Kempton’s National Hunt card, with the Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase, Pendil Novices’ Chase, Adonis Juvenile and Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle four of the feature races on the card.
3.00 Kempton – Kdeux Saint Fray (1pt win – 13/2)
Reigning champion Katate Dori is the one to beat in the Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase at 3.35pm. However, he faces a stiffer test this season and the unexposed Kdeux Saint Fray can land the prize for Anthony Honeyball. Fourth in a decent race at Cheltenham last time out, the 129-rated six-year-old is sure to build on that effort. Whilst many of Saturday’s rivals sit in the handicapper’s grip, he can show he’s still on the upgrade and bound to victory.
4.05 Kempton – Califet En Vol (1pt win – 100/30)
Bad and Etalon finished behind Vincenzo last time out at Ascot and will look to bounce back to winning ways in the 4.05pm at Kempton. However, the pair could be vulnerable to the improving Califet En Vol, who looks the solid bet. Nicky Henderson’s charge has disappointed at Cheltenham on his last few starts, but could be better on Saturday. A switch away from the undulating Prestbury Park could be the key to seeing him claim victory over fences. The seven-year-old has been dropped 1lb by the handicapper, and a mark of 136 looks workable. He will need a career best, but he should find this an easier test than around Cheltenham.
Newcastle Racing Tips (Saturday 21 February 2026)
Seven races light up the card at Newcastle, with the feature being the Eider Handicap Chase. We pick out our best bet for that marathon contest, and have another selection for the racing at the north east venue.
2.43 Newcastle – Fortunate Man (1pt win – 7/1)
A winner at Aintree two starts ago, Fortunate Man was unable to follow it up at Sandown, but the Jonjo & A J O’Neill could well bounce back to winning ways in the Eider at 2.43pm. He will tackle a marathon trip for the first time, but off 10st 2lbs is dangerous. If Mr Vango lines up then Fortunate Man will have a featherweight to carry in this competitive heat. He showed he has bundles of stamina when second at Windsor over three-and-a-half miles, so this 4m trip could play right to his strengths.
3.20 Newcastle – Seaview Rock (1pt win – 6/4)
OIly Murphy’s Seaview Rock stormed to a five-length victory at Leicester last time out, and can follow up in the 3.20pm at Newcastle. Tackling handicap company for the first time, the six-year-old has been given a mark of 117, which certainly looks attractive. He has only been seen twice on the track, so there’s bundles of improvement to come. Taking on some more experienced rivals on Saturday, he can prove to be ultra-progressive and land the money.
