17:08 – Bet £20 Get £20 With Unibet Apprentice Handicap (London Stayers’ Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m 7f | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a tight little staying handicap rather than a deep one, and it wouldn’t take much to make a case for four or five of them. Rogue Empire arrives off the back of a win and is the obvious one to beat if building on that, while Saratoga Gold has been knocking on the door and should give another honest account. Tarbat Ness is reliable enough in this grade and Further Measure brings the best Topspeed figure in the field, which gives him a definite chance if the race is run to suit. Karthon is another with some upside as a 4yo in a race full of older stayers. It looks more of a tactical apprentice handicap than a searching test, so positioning and timing could easily prove decisive.

Top Selections

1. Rogue Empire – 5/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Owen Lewis | Trainer: Roger Teal | Form: 336-31 | Rating: 76 | Topspeed: 41

He makes plenty of appeal as a 4yo who may still have a bit more to offer over staying trips, and that latest win suggests things are beginning to click. The form figures are solid enough for this level and, crucially, he gets in here off 76 against rivals who have shown their hands a little more fully. Roger Teal’s runner is not bombproof in a race lacking obvious pace, but he looks the one with the most straightforward profile and a recent success on the page. At 5/2 he isn’t exactly hidden, but he still sets the standard in a contest of this nature. Bet type: win.

Bet: WIN

2. Further Measure – 5/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Alfie Redman | Trainer: Mike Murphy | Form: 4-4144 | Rating: 80 | Topspeed: 71

Further Measure looks the value angle if you want something at a fairer price than the favourite. He has been running well without quite getting his head in front again, but those recent efforts have been respectable and his 71 Topspeed stands out in this field. That tells you he retains enough ability to go very close in a race of this modest quality, especially if they go a sensible gallop and it turns into a proper stamina test late on. Mike Murphy’s veteran is exposed, yes, but exposed can still be dangerous in these apprentice handicaps, and 5/1 is a perfectly workable each-way quote. Bet type: each-way.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Rogue Empire is the percentage call and looks the right win bet after that latest success. For an each-way punt, Further Measure makes more appeal than most at the prices given his solid recent profile and clear Topspeed edge. Saratoga Gold is the obvious danger if again running to his recent placed form, while Karthon is another who could step forward second time back.

17:40 – Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

Race Details: 7f | Class 3 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly interesting juvenile fillies’ novice rather than a deep one, and the market has understandably latched on to the two with something like obvious appeal: Pequenita for Andrew Balding and Guadalevin, who at least brings a solid piece of racecourse evidence after finishing third on debut. Dark Reign is respected from a yard that knows the job with 2yos, while Lady Caroline Lamb and Sunset Script are the sort who could easily know more second time than the bare paper suggests. Still, in races like this over 7f at Kempton, a bit of professionalism counts for plenty, and Guadalevin has already shown she can handle herself. Pequenita is the intriguing one, but this is no giveaway and it feels a mildly tricky puzzle rather than a banker’s race.

Top Selections

1. Guadalevin – 11/4 with Bet365

Jockey: Paddy Bradley | Trainer: Charlie Fellowes | Form: 3 | Rating: 61 | Topspeed:

There is a lot to like about the fact she has already shown her hand. Guadalevin posted a perfectly respectable debut third and, in a race where several of these arrive with reputations rather than substance, that makes her very hard to dismiss. A mark of 61 does not make her a world-beater, but in this company it gives her a credible platform and, more importantly, she ought to know plenty more now. Charlie Fellowes’ juveniles can improve sharply for the experience, and 11/4 is fair enough for a filly who brings the strongest visible form line into the contest. She sets the standard and looks the percentage call.

Bet: WIN

2. Dark Reign – 4/1 with Betfair

Jockey: Sean Levey | Trainer: Richard Hannon | Form: | Rating: | Topspeed:

Of the unraced fillies, Dark Reign makes plenty of each-way appeal. Richard Hannon and Sean Levey are an eye-catching combination in this sort of juvenile event, and stall 1 is no bad place to begin around here if she breaks and travels. She does not have the sexy price of a complete outsider, but 4/1 is still workable in a nine-runner race where a professional debut could easily put her in the first three. Pequenita is the obvious danger at the head of the market, but Dark Reign may be the one underestimated slightly, especially if she is streetwise from the gates. She looks a sensible each-way punt.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Guadalevin is the win play because she has already shown a level the others still have to reach. For an each-way angle, Dark Reign appeals most from a canny yard with Sean Levey booked and a good draw to work from. Pequenita is the clear danger on debut for Balding and Murphy, while Sunset Script is another worth noting if the market speaks positively.

18:10 – Unibet/EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (GBB/GBBPlus Race)

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 3 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This doesn’t look the deepest Kempton maiden of its type, but it does revolve around a couple of fillies with proper substance to their profiles. Velvet Vega sets a clear standard on a lofty mark of 97 after finishing second on debut, and the market has latched onto her for good reason. Tribal Queen and Danseuse both shaped with promise when third first time out and look the obvious dangers if taking the expected step forward. After that, it gets much murkier: Gypsy Jazz Queen and Salve Allegra are interesting newcomers, while the rest have shown little and are priced accordingly. In truth, this looks more a case of whether the favourite is as straightforward as she appears rather than a wide-open puzzle.

Top Selections

1. Velvet Vega – 8/11 with Bet365

Jockey: Oisin Murphy | Trainer: John & Thady Gosden | Form: 2 | Rating: 97 | Topspeed:

A debut second is already the best piece of form on offer here and that official mark of 97 sticks out in a field where most either need to improve or have yet to show anything at all. The Gosdens are hardly in the habit of wasting runs with fillies of this type, and stepping up to 1m2f on Kempton’s Polytrack looks an entirely logical move. Oisin Murphy is another plus in a race where professionalism could count for plenty. She is no giveaway at 8/11, but this is the sort of maiden where the obvious one is often obvious for a reason. Bet: WIN

2. Danseuse – 11/2 with Bet365

Jockey: Callum Rodriguez | Trainer: Simon & Ed Crisford | Form: 3 | Rating: 86 | Topspeed: 60

Of the alternatives to the favourite, Danseuse makes most appeal as an each-way play. Her debut third was perfectly respectable, and an opening mark of 86 tells you she did enough to suggest there is a race in her. The inside draw should help around here, and the Crisford team know exactly how to place a progressive filly on the all-weather. She may not have the sexy profile of Velvet Vega, but at 11/2 she looks a sensible each-way punt in a race where several of her rivals are either completely unexposed or already look up against it. She holds stronger place claims than the price implies. Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Velvet Vega is the solid win play and sets the standard by some margin on what we’ve seen. For those wanting a bit more value, Danseuse appeals as the each-way option in a nine-runner field with three places on offer. Tribal Queen is the obvious danger if improving from her own debut third, while any strong move for Gypsy Jazz Queen would also be worth noting.

18:40 – Set Your Limits With Unibet Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a proper London Mile heat rather than a weak midweek handicap, with plenty arriving in form and very little margin for error. Silca Bay heads the market after getting the job done last time and is an obvious player despite a wide stall, while Billy Mill has been knocking hard on the door and should give another solid account. I Am Me and Bold Suitor are others arriving off wins, so there is no shortage of recent winning form on show. Criminal is interesting dropped into this grade with William Buick booked, and Lady Manzor has been running well enough without quite landing the blow. It is a competitive puzzle rather than a race to get carried away in, and tactical position over this mile could easily decide it.

Top Selections

1. Billy Mill – 6/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Saffie Osborne | Trainer: Rod Millman | Form: 866322 | Rating: 88 | Topspeed: 77

He has the look of a horse ready to cash in. Those last three runs, reading 3-2-2, are rock-solid in the context of this race and his Topspeed figure of 77 is one of the better recent numbers on offer here. Billy Mill is an exposed eight-year-old, yes, but exposed does not mean ungenuine, and he is holding his form far better than plenty of these. Stall 7 is workable, Saffie Osborne knows how to deliver one late round here, and 6/1 feels fair in a race where several of the principals have trickier profiles than the market suggests. He holds strong claims if reproducing his recent level. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Criminal – 8/1 with Bet365

Jockey: William Buick | Trainer: Richard Hughes | Form: 790824 | Rating: 89 | Topspeed: 78

Criminal is the each-way play because there is enough in his recent efforts to think he can outrun his price, and possibly do better than that. He has not been finishing far away in stronger races than this and that Topspeed mark of 78 is the best in the field, which immediately catches the eye in a race where a few are priced on potential rather than hard evidence. Draw 12 is not ideal, but Buick aboard for Hughes is hardly a negative and this is the sort of Kempton handicap where class can smooth over a less-than-perfect berth. At 8/1, he looks the value for a place at the very least. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Billy Mill is the win bet given his consistency and solid recent speed figures. Criminal makes plenty of appeal as the each-way option at 8/1 in a 14-runner race with four places on offer. Silca Bay is the obvious danger after that latest success, while Lady Manzor and I Am Me are capable of getting involved if the race sets up for them.

19:10 – Unibet 40,000+ Live Streamed Events Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier) (Div I)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a proper three-year-old sprint handicap rather than a weak qualifier, with several unexposed types arriving on the up and a few better-fancied yards represented. Marengo Storm has quickly climbed the ranks after just three starts and is the obvious one to beat for Richard Hughes and William Buick, but he is not facing pushovers. Jumeirah Sands comes here chasing a hat-trick, Arry Up has already shown he can string wins together, while Moonshine and Deluded both appeal as the sort to keep improving with racing. The draw is spread across the track, so I would not get too hung up on stalls, and this may come down to which of these progressive sprinters handles the rise in class best. Tricky enough beneath the favourite, but not impossible to solve.

Top Selections

1. Marengo Storm – 9/4 with Bet365

Jockey: William Buick | Trainer: Richard Hughes | Form: 512 | Rating: 93 | Topspeed: 76

He makes plenty of appeal as the solid win play. Marengo Storm has done very little wrong in three starts, winning his second run and then shaping really well in defeat when runner-up last time. An opening mark of 93 demands more, but it does not look harsh for a colt who still has upside over sprint trips. Buick taking over catches the eye, Hughes is more than capable with this sort of improving handicapper, and the market has latched on for good reason. At 9/4, he is hardly a hidden gem, but he looks the one with the strongest overall claims if progressing again. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Moonshine – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Kieran Shoemark | Trainer: Ed Walker | Form: 32-213 | Rating: 91 | Topspeed: 55

Moonshine is the one that makes most each-way appeal in a race where a few of the obvious dangers are shorter than they should be. He has been admirably consistent, his form figures reading well for this level, and he backed up a win with a respectable third last time rather than taking a backward step. Stall 1 could help him get a handy position if things break right, and Walker’s sprinters tend to hold their form once they hit a groove. Available at 9/1, he looks overpriced against rivals with similar profiles but less reliable recent form. He is the each-way punt at the prices. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple: Marengo Storm is the win bet because he looks the classiest improver in the line-up and is hard to oppose if taking another step forward. For an each-way alternative, Moonshine makes more appeal than some of the shorter-priced rivals thanks to his consistency and fair draw. Dangers? Jumeirah Sands is progressive, while Arry Up has enough pace to get involved if bouncing back.

19:40 – Unibet 40,000+ Live Streamed Events Handicap (London Sprint Series Qualifier) (Div II)

Race Details: 6f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a proper 3yo sprint handicap rather than a weak division, with several of these arriving with something to prove and a couple who still look ahead of the assessor. Big Harry has been handed favouritism after ending last season on the upgrade and the draw in stall 1 could be a real asset around Kempton. Amazing Journey is easy to like too after shaping well on return, while Angel Gabriel has fewer miles on the clock and could easily have more to offer now switched into handicap company. There are dangers at bigger prices, notably Generous Rascal and Exotic Baby, but both need to show a little more than they did last time. Competitive, but not impossible to solve if one of the progressive types takes another step forward.

Top Selections

1. Big Harry – 85/40 with Betfair

Jockey: Kieran Shoemark | Trainer: William Stone | Form: 321- | Rating: 95 | Topspeed:

Big Harry is the obvious starting point and, in truth, he is hard to oppose. He signed off his juvenile campaign with figures of 3-2-1, so the profile is that of a colt learning quickly, and an opening mark of 95 says connections think he belongs in a race like this. Stall 1 is no bad place to be over this trip here if Shoemark can hold a handy position, and he gets in with just 129 despite being the highest-rated horse in the field. Around 85/40 is not giveaway stuff in a competitive sprint, but he looks the runner with the most upside and the clearest chance of being better than his mark. Bet: WIN

2. Angel Gabriel – 5/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Hector Crouch | Trainer: Ralph Beckett | Form: 221- | Rating: 89 | Topspeed: 74

Angel Gabriel is the each-way alternative because he is not exposed and his 2-2-1 form figures tell a tidy story. He ended last season by getting off the mark and now returns straight into a handicap for a yard that usually places these improving 3yos sensibly. A mark of 89 looks fair rather than harsh, and Beckett sprinters often find a bit more with time. Drawn 7, Hector Crouch may not get the dream tow into it, but if the pace develops evenly he has the right sort of profile to be staying on when some of these have cried enough. At 5/1, he makes plenty of appeal as an each-way punt in a 10-runner race with three places on offer. Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it straightforward: Big Harry is the win play, as he looks the most likely improver and has the draw to get a smooth trip. Angel Gabriel is the each-way option at a backable price, with the unexposed angle very much in his favour. Amazing Journey is the obvious danger after a solid return, while Generous Rascal could outrun his odds if bouncing back.

20:10 – Try Unibet’s New Smartview Racecards Fillies’ Handicap (GBBPlus Race)

Race Details: 1m 3f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a neat little fillies’ handicap rather than a deep one, and the market looks to have latched onto the unexposed 3yo pair Golden Muse and Desert Belle. That makes perfect sense. Golden Muse has already shown a good attitude in winning twice before a respectable third on her handicap debut, while Prescott’s Desert Belle is the type to keep improving now she steps up in trip again. Club Class sets the standard among the older fillies on official figures, but she is giving weight away all round and has looked a shade vulnerable on her last two starts. Jindri is another with a squeak if returning in the same mood as when winning at Wolverhampton. Tricky enough, but it does feel likely to go to one of the progressive younger legs.

Top Selections

1. Golden Muse – 5/2 with Betfair

Jockey: Kieran Shoemark | Trainer: Marco Botti | Form: 3113 | Rating: 81 | Topspeed: 23

Golden Muse makes plenty of appeal. She won two of her first three starts and then shaped well when third on handicap debut, suggesting there is still more to come now she moves up to 1m3f. An opening mark of 81 looks fair rather than harsh, especially in a race where several of the older fillies look exposed enough. Marco Botti’s filly has the profile of one still going the right way, and Kieran Shoemark is a positive booking for a race that may turn tactical. At 5/2 she is not exactly hidden from view, but she still looks the most likely winner if finding another small step forward. Bet: WIN

2. Desert Belle – 6/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Luke Morris | Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott Bt | Form: 214 | Rating: 83 | Topspeed: 57

You never need much encouragement to side with a Prescott filly stepping up in trip, and Desert Belle fits the usual pattern rather nicely. She won her second start and was far from disgraced when fourth next time, with this 1m3f trip offering obvious scope for improvement. From stall 1, Luke Morris should be able to secure an economical position, which matters around here, and her feather weight of 8st 4lb is a major asset against older rivals carrying lumps more. She is only three starts into her career, so unlike plenty of these she is open to a fair chunk of progress. Around 6/1, she looks the value each-way play. Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Golden Muse is the solid win play given her progressive profile and the likelihood this extra yardage brings more out of her. Desert Belle is the each-way alternative at the bigger price, with her light weight and Prescott angle hard to ignore. Club Class is the obvious danger on ratings, while Jindri could outrun her odds if ready first time back.

20:40 – Unibet Supports Safer Gambling Handicap (London Middle Distance Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a proper low-grade Kempton handicap and, predictably enough, it is not short of angles. Karakula arrives in the best nick after a pair of runner-up efforts and looks the obvious one from stall 2, while Imperial Cult comes here on the back of a win and is respected despite a wider draw. Uzincso is a 10-year-old now but still runs this track well and shaped better than the bare result last time, while Golspie keeps knocking on the door without quite getting his head in front. Sonnerie Power has the topspeed figure to get involved if things fall right, but this does look the sort where tactical position and willingness off the bridle will matter as much as raw ability. Tricky, yes, but not impossible.

Top Selections

1. Karakula – 5/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Toby Moore | Trainer: James Ferguson | Form: 154-22 | Rating: 78 | Topspeed: 68

Karakula makes plenty of appeal in a race where some of these are either exposed or unreliable. Those two recent second-place finishes suggest he is ready to strike, and a mark of 78 still looks workable judged on the level he has been running to. The inside draw is a plus around here if Toby Moore can hold a decent position, and James Ferguson’s runner has the profile of one who should be winning a race like this sooner rather than later. At 5/1, he is not exactly hidden from the market, but he still looks the percentage call in a field full of doubts. Bet: WIN

2. Uzincso – 8/1 with Bet365

Jockey: David Egan | Trainer: John Butler | Form: 974-04 | Rating: 79 | Topspeed: 73

Uzincso is the each-way angle in a race where a bit of course craft counts for plenty. He is an old hand now, but that 73 topspeed figure is the best in the field and his latest fourth hinted that the fire still burns. Carrying just 129, he gets in lightly enough for a horse with his experience, and David Egan is a positive booking for one who can need delivering at the right time. You would not want to trust him as a win machine at this stage of his career, but at 8/1 in a 14-runner Class 6, he makes plenty of sense as an each-way punt with four places on offer. Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Karakula is the solid win play given his recent consistency and handy draw, while Uzincso looks the better value for an each-way bet with his track know-how and strong topspeed figure. Imperial Cult is the obvious danger after winning last time, and Golspie is another who should be thereabouts if this turns into a proper stamina test late on.
