18:00 – Unibet Supports Safer Gambling “Hands And Heels” Apprentice Handicap (Part Of Racing Excellence)

Race Details: 1m | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a very ordinary Class 6 mile, but that does not make it simple. Sceptic arrives off a solid second and is the obvious starting point, while Port Noir has been admirably consistent in this grade and seldom runs his race. King Of Speed is another with bits of recent placed form that give him a squeak, though he is not getting any younger, and Aim For The Bull has a profile that suggests he can be in the mix again from a fair draw. Behind those, plenty have questions to answer, with Miss Chester and Dinah Myte needing a revival and the bigger-priced pair looking up against it. In short, it is not a strong race, but it is the sort where dependable recent form can count for plenty.

Top Selections

1. Sceptic – 3/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Toby Moore | Trainer: Ian Williams | Form: 079452 | Rating: 70 | Topspeed: 44

He is hardly bombproof, but this is a thin enough race and his latest second gives him the most persuasive recent piece of form on offer. That run suggested he is coming to the boil again, and a mark of 70 still looks workable in this grade if he can reproduce it. Ian Williams knows how to place this type, and in a field where several rivals arrive either out of form or with patchy profiles, Sceptic is the one with the fewest negatives. The market has him short enough, but 3/1 still makes fair appeal given the company he keeps here. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Port Noir – 5/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Matthew Lloyd Slater | Trainer: Robert Stephens | Form: 171613 | Rating: 66 | Topspeed: 55

Port Noir is a nine-year-old, so nobody is pretending there is hidden upside, but he is running far too well at present to ignore in a race of this nature. His recent figures are rock-solid for the level, and that latest third was another reminder that he is holding his form well. He does not need to improve to hit the frame and, in truth, he may not be far off the most reliable horse in the line-up. From stall 5 he should get every chance to travel comfortably, and 5/1 looks a fair each-way punt with three places on offer. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Sceptic is the win play on the strength of his recent second and the fact this does not look a deep race. For a safer angle, Port Noir makes plenty of each-way sense at 5/1 given his consistency in this grade. King Of Speed and Aim For The Bull are the obvious dangers if reproducing their better recent efforts.

18:30 – Bet £20 Get £20 With Unibet Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier)

Race Details: 1m | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a pretty interesting London Mile qualifier for the three-year-olds, with a few coming here with something to prove and a couple who could still be ahead of the assessor. Blues And Royals is the obvious starting point after winning on his return and then finishing a solid second off this sort of mark, while Victory Ace arrives on the back of a decisive success and has the best Topspeed figure in the field. Booziebrunch has been knocking on the door without quite getting his head in front, and Melody De Vega is another with an inside draw and enough promise to get involved. It is not a deep Class 5 by any means, but it is a race with a proper shape to it, and the one who settles best and sees out the mile strongest should take plenty of beating.

Top Selections

1. Blues And Royals – 2/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Saffie Osborne | Trainer: Michael Bell | Form: 873-12 | Rating: 84 | Topspeed: 54

Blues And Royals is hard to get away from. Michael Bell’s colt has looked a different proposition since returning this spring, opening his account and then backing it up with a good second when asked to concede little in the way of promise. An opening mark of 84 is no gift in a race like this, but he has already shown he can cope with handicap company and there is a fair chance there is still a bit more to come at a mile. Drawn 3, with Saffie Osborne taking over, he should get a handy stalking trip round here. At 2/1 he is short enough, but still the most likely winner. Bet type tag: win angle.

Bet: WIN

2. Melody De Vega – 9/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Hollie Doyle | Trainer: Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole | Form: 823-3 | Rating: 81 | Topspeed: 58

Melody De Vega looks the value play if you want something against the favourite. She has been fairly consistent without winning, but there was enough in that seasonal return third to think she can step forward now switched into handicap company from a workable mark of 81. The draw in stall 1 is a plus at Kempton over this trip, and Hollie Doyle is exactly the sort you want on a filly who may need delivering late off the rail. Her Topspeed figure of 58 is perfectly respectable in this field and 9/1 feels a touch dismissive given she has fewer questions to answer than some of the more fashionable rivals. Bet type tag: each-way appeal.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Blues And Royals is the straightforward win bet because he brings the strongest recent form and still looks progressive. For an each-way punt, Melody De Vega makes plenty of sense from stall 1 at 9/1. The main dangers are Victory Ace, who posted the standout Topspeed last time, and Booziebrunch, who is reliable enough to hit the frame again.

19:00 – Get Best Odds Guaranteed At Unibet Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (Bands B/C/D) (GBB Race)

Race Details: 1m 2f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This doesn’t look a deep novice by Kempton standards and, bluntly, it revolves around Brilliant Star. The Gosden filly has already shown useful form, arrives here on the back of a win, and her rating of 87 towers over what most of these have achieved so far. Behind her, it gets much murkier. Golden Step is the obvious unknown for a yard that does well with this type, while Eloquencia at least has a placing on the board and could improve for this extra yardage. Several of the others have either shown very little or are older fillies trying to give weight away, which makes this feel more about whether the favourite turns up in the same mood than any great tactical puzzle. Strong favourite, modest opposition.

Top Selections

1. Brilliant Star – 1/6 with Bet365

Jockey: Robert Havlin | Trainer: John & Thady Gosden | Form: 2-1 | Rating: 87 | Topspeed: 30

She sets a clear standard and it’s hard to crab what she’s achieved already. A form line of 2-1 is exactly what you want to see from a filly in this company, and an official mark of 87 leaves the rest with plenty to find. The Gosdens don’t waste bullets in races like this and Robert Havlin is an uncomplicated booking for a filly who should be able to travel and pick this lot up when asked. At 1/6 she’s no betting revelation, but she does look the most likely winner by a street if reproducing her previous level. This is very much a case of the obvious answer being the right one.

Bet: WIN

2. Golden Step – 7/1 with Bet365

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Simon & Ed Crisford | Form: | Rating: | Topspeed:

If you’re looking beyond the jolly, Golden Step is the one who makes some each-way appeal. She comes from a yard fully capable of readying one first time, and Jack Mitchell is a positive booking around here on this surface. In a race where several rivals have already posted modest ratings in the 40s and 50s, the unexposed filly is often the one worth siding with for place purposes. The market has her as the clear second string at around 7/1, which feels fair rather than flashy, but there’s enough room for her to step forward and hit the frame if the favourite is as dominant as expected.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

There’s no point getting too clever: Brilliant Star is the win bet and should justify cramped odds if running to her mark. For an each-way angle in an eight-runner field, Golden Step makes more appeal than the exposed alternatives. Eloquencia is the obvious danger to that place part after her debut third, but the favourite really ought to have this under control.

19:30 – Unibet More Extra Place Races Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Bands B/C/D) (GBB Race)

Race Details: 7f | Class 5 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a fairly ordinary restricted maiden on paper, but it should still take a useful filly to win it. Venetian Gold sets the standard on official figures after a promising debut fourth and it would be no surprise at all if Roger Varian’s filly simply proved a class above this level. Cixi has the benefit of experience and brings a solid enough rating into the race, while Elshie is entitled to step forward from her first run. There are also a few lightly-raced or unraced types who could easily outrun their prices, notably Perdy In Paris and Sterling Fortune. In a 14-runner fillies’ maiden, though, there’s enough unknown depth to make this more of a betting puzzle than a formality.

Top Selections

1. Venetian Gold – 2/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Roger Varian | Form: 4 | Rating: 73 | Topspeed:

Venetian Gold is the obvious one, but sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. She posted the best rating in the field after finishing fourth on debut and that piece of form gives her a clear edge in what is not a deep maiden. Varian’s youngsters usually know their job second time, and Jack Mitchell is an excellent booking around Kempton, especially over this sort of trip where rhythm matters. Draw 11 is not ideal, but she has the class to overcome it if building as expected from that first outing. At 2/1, she is hardly a hidden gem, yet she still looks the likeliest winner. Bet type: WIN.

Bet: WIN

2. Perdy In Paris – 16/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Hollie Doyle | Trainer: George Baker | Form: 33- | Rating: 67 | Topspeed: 34

Perdy In Paris makes plenty of each-way appeal at the prices. She showed consistent promise in two runs last year, finishing third on both occasions, and that level of form gives her a decent chance of hitting the frame in a race where several have something to prove. The inside draw in stall 1 could be a real asset if Hollie Doyle can get her into a handy position without wasting ground, and she receives a little weight from some of the principals too. She does need to find more to beat Venetian Gold outright, but 16/1 feels bigger than it should be for a filly with her profile. Bet type: EACH-WAY.

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Keep it simple here: Venetian Gold is the win bet because she brings the strongest debut form and the highest rating into a weak enough maiden. For an each-way punt, Perdy In Paris looks overpriced given her solid juvenile efforts and favourable draw. Cixi is the obvious danger on experience, while Elshie and Sterling Fortune are the types who could improve sharply.

20:00 – Try Unibet’s New Improved Acca Boosts Handicap

Race Details: 7f | Class 4 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This is a proper Kempton handicap, deep enough to take seriously and messy enough to demand a view. Ribenska arrives off a solid return when second and looks well treated near the foot of the weights, while Farasi Lane has been thriving and is easy to see going well again despite creeping up the handicap. Receipt is another on the up after winning last time, and Prosperitas is the type who could easily bounce back from a quiet reappearance. There are live outsiders too, notably Arctician and Notimeforchitchat, both of whom have pieces of form that fit. The shape of the race should be honest over this sharp 7f, and in a 14-runner field the draw, track position and who gets the smoothest passage may matter every bit as much as raw ability. Tricky, but not impossible.

Top Selections

1. Ribenska – 7/1 with Sky Bet

Jockey: Paddy Bradley | Trainer: Charlie Fellowes | Form: 2177-2 | Rating: 90 | Topspeed: 82

Ribenska makes most appeal. She shaped very well on her return when runner-up, suggesting she has come back in good order, and that effort reads nicely in the context of a race like this. A mark of 90 looks workable, especially with just 128lb on her back, and her Topspeed figure says she has the gears for a competitive 7f handicap round Kempton. Charlie Fellowes does well with this type and Paddy Bradley is a positive booking for a race where timing the challenge matters. At 7/1, she looks fairly priced rather than flashy, but this is exactly the sort of profile I want on side. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Arctician – 18/1 with Betfair

Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa | Trainer: Simon Dow | Form: 914-34 | Rating: 90 | Topspeed: 78

Arctician is the each-way play at a price. He is an eight-year-old now, so there are no secrets, but his recent runs suggest he is still very capable in this grade. His 3rd and 4th this term have both hinted that a race of this nature is within reach, and he is back on the same mark of 90, which gives him every chance if he gets across from stall 13 without burning too much petrol. Silvestre De Sousa aboard catches the eye in a big field around here because he is one of the best at making awkward draws less of an issue. At 18/1, he looks overpriced for four places. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Ribenska is the main bet to win after a promising comeback and looks well positioned to strike from this mark. Arctician is the each-way alternative at a chunky price, with the De Sousa booking adding confidence despite the wide draw. The obvious dangers are Farasi Lane, who keeps running his race, and Receipt, who may still be progressing after that last-time-out win.

20:30 – Get Daily Price Boosts At Unibet Handicap

Race Details: 7f | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a proper Kempton handicap puzzle rather than a race packed with certainty, though there are some solid enough recent profiles to work around. Yehudi is the obvious starting point on consistency and a handy draw, while Taskheer arrives with the sort of low-weight, reliable placed form that often pays its way in this grade. Divine Wish is lightly raced enough to think there could still be a bit more to come, and Orbital Chime has been knocking on the door without quite getting his head in front. By contrast, plenty of these are either out of form or look vulnerable from awkward draws. In a race where tactical position over 7f will matter, I’d much rather side with the runners bringing current, repeatable handicap form than those relying on a revival.

Top Selections

1. Yehudi – 10/3 with Betfair

Jockey: Jack Mitchell | Trainer: Mark Loughnane | Form: 452546 | Rating: 79 | Topspeed: 72

Yehudi is hardly hiding from the assessor, but he makes plenty of appeal in a race lacking depth. His recent form figures are not spectacular on paper, yet they show a horse holding his level, and that Topspeed mark of 72 is the best in the field. Stall 3 is another plus around here, giving Jack Mitchell options to sit handy without having to burn petrol early. He has been competing respectably enough in similar company and doesn’t need to improve much to take this. Available at 10/3 with Betfair, he looks the most solid win proposition in a race where many have questions attached. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Taskheer – 11/1 with Paddy Power

Jockey: Hollie Doyle | Trainer: Daniel Steele | Form: 32-234 | Rating: 75 | Topspeed: 63

Taskheer is the each-way angle because he keeps running his race and is very well treated on the weights in the context of this contest. The veteran may not be getting any younger, but those recent figures of 32-234 tell you he is still in good order, and dropping in here with just 119 looks workable. Hollie Doyle is a notable booking in a race that could be decided by who gets the smoothest trip, and Taskheer has the profile of one who can travel into it late if the pace is honest enough. At 11/1 with Paddy Power, he looks overpriced for a horse with such dependable place claims. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Yehudi is the straightforward win bet: the draw, the consistency and the standout Topspeed figure all point his way. For an each-way punt, Taskheer makes plenty of sense with four places on offer and a feather weight. The main dangers are Divine Wish, who still has a bit of untapped potential, and Orbital Chime, who is better than his finishing positions sometimes suggest.

21:00 – Unibet’s 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap

Race Details: 6f | Class 6 | Going: Standard to slow (Polytrack) | | flat

This looks a competitive but fairly ordinary Class 6 sprint, the sort where recent sharpness and a handy draw can count for plenty around Kempton. Hint Of The Jungle brings the most persuasive current profile after a string of solid efforts, while Rye and Respectable Jack are the other obvious ones if reproducing their recent placed form. Elvetham arrives off a win and is clearly in the argument, though that came in weaker company and he now has to back it up. Dancing With Drums is another with enough ability for this grade, but she still has a bit to prove after two lesser efforts. There are plenty with bits and pieces of form, but not many you could call bombproof, so it is a race where price sensitivity matters.

Top Selections

1. Hint Of The Jungle – 11/4 with Betfair

Jockey: Rob Hornby | Trainer: Mike Murphy | Form: 521152 | Rating: 72 | Topspeed: 64

He is the one I’d want on side. That form string tells its own story: he has been holding his level well, winning two starts back and then running right up to that form when second last time. Off 72 he is not obviously thrown in, but he is reliable in a race where plenty are anything but, and stall 3 is a perfectly workable berth for a prominent ride. Rob Hornby is a positive booking for this type of race and, at 11/4, he still makes more appeal than some of the similarly weighted rivals because you can trust him to run his race. Bet: WIN

Bet: WIN

2. Respectable Jack – 5/1 with Betfair

Jockey: Saffie Osborne | Trainer: Matt Crawley | Form: 05-325 | Rating: 71 | Topspeed: 67

He looks the value each-way play from a good low draw in stall 2, especially with four places on offer. His recent form is better than the bare figures might suggest: the third and second reads well enough at this level, and even the latest fifth was not the sort of run that screams regression. He sits just 1lb below the principals on ratings, has one of the better Topspeed figures in the field, and Saffie Osborne is the kind of rider you like aboard a hold-up sprinter if the gaps come. Available at 5/1, he makes plenty of sense as the percentage play in a race lacking depth. Bet: EACH-WAY

Bet: EACH-WAY

Betting Strategy

Hint Of The Jungle is the straightforward win play because he brings the best recent consistency and the least guesswork. For an each-way punt, Respectable Jack looks solid at the prices from a low draw with four places to aim at. The obvious dangers are Rye, who is knocking on the door, and last-time-out winner Elvetham.
