Kempton & Wetherby Boxing Day Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Friday 26 December 2025

With a bumper 11 horse racing fixtures taking place on Boxing Day then there’s a real feast of equine action available to punters. Our GG Lucky 15 focuses on two of the big meetings on UK soil on Friday 26 December, as we pick out our Kempton and Wetherby best bets for the day.

Check out all our best Lucky 15 tips for a scintillating Boxing Day’s action, which sees the King George VI Chase take centre stage at Kempton at 2.30pm.

Kempton Racing Tips (Friday 26 December 2025)

A sparkling six-race card takes place at Kempton on Boxing Day at 12.40pm with a host of Grade 1 contests including the King George VI Chase, Kauto Star Novices’ Chase and Christmas Hurdle. We have three selections for the action at the coveted jumps track.

1.20 Kempton – Kitzbuhel (1pt win – 2/1)

Wendigo is entitled to be a leading contender for the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at 1.20pm, but Jamie Snowden’s charge may just lack that bit of pace needed around Kempton Park, and the one that can outpace him is Kitzbuhel, who lines up for Willie Mullins. A smart hurdler, the five-year-old made a winning start to his chasing career at Punchestown in a beginners chase, and he shaped like he could be more than capable of delivering a Grade 1-winning display. He will step up in trip for this contest, but that could bring on notable improvement and he can dominate the final stages of the contest to land the prize for Ireland.

2.30 Kempton – Jango Baie (1pt win – 3/1)

Nicky Henderson can claim his fourth King George VI Chase success on Friday with Jango Baie, who can down the two Irish stars Gaelic Warrior and Fact To File in a pulsating event. Storming up the Cheltenham hill to win the Arkle back in March, Jango Baie returned with a stunning win in the 1965 Chase at Ascot last month, where he enjoyed the step up in trip. He will go a bit further again for this event, and it’s three miles that could see him really blossom and he can make the most of a strong gallop likely to be set by Il Est Francais. Staying off the pace, he’s sure to be challenging in the closing stages and he can bound to the front after the last fence to grab the prize.

14:30 Ladbrokes King George VI Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)

3.40 Kempton – Paso Doble (1pt win – 7/1)

Ben Pauling’s hat-trick-seeking Onewaywest is the one to beat in the final race of the day at 3.40pm, but he could come unstuck to a Paul Nicholls-trained runner in the shape of Paso Doble, who can land the finale. A huge model of consistency in recent times, the Ditcheat inmate has failed to be out the first three in his last five races, and off a mark of 122 for this contest he could run a big race. Second at Lingfield last time out, a repeat of that effort should see him on the vicinity in this contest and he’s the selection to end the day at Kempton in style.

15:40 Ladbrokes “Best Odds Guaranteed In Racing” Handicap Hurdle

Wetherby Racing Tips (Friday 26 December 2025)

There are seven races at Wetherby on Friday with the feature race on the card being the Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase at 1.35pm. We focus on the big race and pick our selection from the five runners lining up.

1.35 Wetherby – Knappers Hill (1pt win – 5/1)

A facile 15-length winner of the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle last time out, Konfusion will have to deal with an 11lbs rise by the handicapper, so he could prove vulnerable in the 1.35pm at Wetherby. Knappers Hill is a multiple Grade 2 winner over hurdles and fences, so is proven at a decent level, and if the Paul Nicholls-trained raider can find that form here then he has to be respected. He returned to the track after two years off at Haydock, but was no match for The Jukebox Man, who lines up in the King George. He will need to improve on that effort, but he should come on leaps and bounds, and if he can return to some old form then he has to be respected off a mark of 145.
