Kempton & Wolverhampton Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Monday 2 March

Four horse racing fixtures take place on Monday 2 March, but our resident tipster Andrew Mount heads to the two all-weather fixtures at Kempton and Wolverhampton for his best bets of the day.

Take a look at Andrew’s brace of selections for a new week below:

Kempton Racing Tips (Monday 2 March 2026)

Eight races take place at Kempton this afternoon, with a 2.07pm start, but you have to wait until the final race at 5.40pm for Andrew’s best bet on the card.

5.40 Kempton – Rosemary’s Rose (1pt win – 7/2 bet365, 888sport)

The Spotlight Kid looks the wrong favourite for this 1m handicap as he needs a big field/strong pace scenario and it’s no coincidence that his four wins have come in fields of 14 or more runners. This nine-runner line-up is far from ideal, and I expect him to run respectably without winning. Preference is for Rosemary’s Rose who won on Lingfield’s Polytrack last month on her second start for Rod Millman. Her subsequent 10-1 third at Newcastle was a useful effort, as the steady early gallop didn’t suit and the winner/runner-up got first run on her, and the return to this surface in what should be a more strongly run race will suit.

Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Monday 2 March 2026)

There’s eight more race at Wolverhampton this evening, and yet again you have to wait for the end of the meeting for Andrew’s best bet, as he heads to the 8.30pm contest.

8.30 Wolverhampton – Glenridding (1pt win – 11/2 generally)

Current 15-8 favourite Three On Thursday is usually worth taking on – she’s won just once from 17 starts and that was at Lingfield in December when getting the run of the race out wide, away from the ‘dead’ inside rail. Tony Carroll’s four-year-old has been beaten in all five of her subsequent outings, including when favourite on her last three starts. She was only beaten by half a length over an inadequate 8.6f here on her latest start but the time was pedestrian and she looks short enough in the betting.

In-form Ewan Whillans has a good record at Wolverhampton in Class 6 races, scoring with ten of his 53 runners for a profit of £29.75 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 4.53, A/E = 2.21) and his Glenridding looks the value call. The four-year-old ran well on his sole start here for the Kublers, finishing third in a nursery off a 6lb higher mark than tonight’s and his two runs for his current stable (150-1 fifth and 33-1 fifth)  have come in a juvenile/maiden hurdle company and were simply a case of getting handicapped ready for a probable summer jumping campaign on fast ground.
