15 go to post, with Night Raider the clear favourite. Karl Burke’s speedster carries a 3lb penalty for earlier victories in 2026 and had excuses at Royal Ascot last time out. This track suits his all or nothing style, but he is drawn similarly to 12 months ago when unable to get competitive. Low stalls may again be beneficial, but he has clear claims on his form this term.
Rumstar chased him home at Newmarket to begin the campaign. He has since claimed Group 3 honours at Sandown for the second year in a row. Jonathan Portman’s charge should again go well and he won here as a juvenile.
Last year’s hero Jm Jungle also likes it at Goodwood. He was closer to his best again at York last time, so should make a bold defence. There are also three Group 1 winners in the field, though American Affair and Asfoora look shadows of themselves so far in 2026. The same could be said of Time For Sandals, but Harry Eustace’s filly may have had draw excuses a few times this year and ran an eyecatching race under a Group 1 penalty in this race last season. Conditions may suit her to run a big race, with her price too big on talent alone.
Both Partisan Hero and Jakajaro are in career best form. Their placed efforts at the Curragh last time put them in the mix, while Aidan O’Brien’s Brussels is hard to entirely rule out despite needing more on 2026 evidence. Fellow three-year-old Aspect Island and Swedish raider Lamborghini Bf, a multiple Listed winner in his homeland, are other intriguing runners.

She has been disappointing this term, but has often been on the wrong side of the draw and 5f here off a strong pace should work in her favour. She was third in this 12 months ago carrying a Group 1 penalty, which was some effort for a three-year-old filly. Rumstar is feared most after two particularly strong runs this term. Partisan Hero is in career best form aged six and is third choice.
