Leopardstown Racing Tips (Sunday 28 December 2025)
There’s a scintillating seven race card at Leopardstown that kicks off at 12.10pm, with the feature race being the Grade 1 Savills Chase. We pick out three selections for the Irish action.
1.55 Leopardstown – Teahupoo (1pt win – 2/1)
A vintage renewal of the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle takes place at 1.55pm and it could be a race fought out by the top two in the market. Ballyburn is the slight favourite, at the time of writing, but the Willie Mullins-trained raider can fall to Teahupoo, who has long proved to be one of the best staying hurdlers in training. The pair traded blows in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle over 2m 4f last time out, with Teahupoo coming out on top, and the extra distance here should certainly play to his strengths and Gordon Elliott’s charge can cement his place as the premier Irish challenger for Stayers’ Hurdle glory in March.
2.30 Leopardstown – Galopin Des Champs (1pt win – 2/1)
A winner of this race in 2023 and 2024, Galopin Des Champs has proven virtually unbeatable at Leopardstown during his glittering career and the Willie Mullins-trained sensation can make it a hat-trick of Savills Chase wins at 2.30pm. He missed his usual season starting point in the John Durkan, so he makes his seasonal reappearance here, but he showed last year with a dominant victory that on his day he is a real class act around the track. The dual Gold Cup hero will have to beat Cheltenham Gold Cup champion Inothewayurthinkin, who will be looking to frank the Cheltenham form from March, where Galopin Des Champs had to settle for second place. However, Inothewayurthinkin failed to fire in the John Durkan and he could be one that isn’t fully wound up until March and another tilt at the Gold Cup, so it’s worth taking him on with the ultra-consistent Galopin Des Champs.
3.05 Leopadstown – Savante (1pt win – 25/1)
A field of 20 horses go to post for the competitive handicap hurdle and the fabulous betting heat certainly provides some value for punters. One that could outrun her odds is Colm Murphy’s Savante, who is around the 25/1 mark, but could play a notable role off a mark off 117. The six-year-old made an impressive start to her career with two wins out of her first three starts, but she failed to build on that. She has been seen over fences the last two times, but a return to hurdles should bring on some improvement. She was travelling well at this meeting last season when being brought down in the closing stages, where she lined up off 120, so a 3lbs drop could see her take her part in the finish. This is a tough contest with some potential improving sorts lining up, but Savante is one that could outrun her lofty odds and land a shock win.
Leicester Racing Tips (Sunday 28 December 2025)

1.47 Leicester – Two To Tango (1pt win – 7/4)
Emma Lavelle’s Two To Tango has been knocking on the door of late and was last seen finishing second of three runners at Leicester. Returning to the same track for the 1.47pm on Sunday, the seven-year-old will also line up off the same mark for this mediocre contest and he could be more than capable of going one better. He’s still a maiden, but has been placed on countless occasions and with limited opposition in this event then he can duly claim a first victory.
