A whopping 11 races will take place in front of the ITV Racing cameras on Sunday 1 February, as day two of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown takes place, as well as day two of Scottish Trials weekend at Musselburgh.
Our GG Lucky 15 focuses on the action in Ireland and Scotland, and we pick out our four best bets on a stellar afternoon of jumps action.
Leopardstown Racing Tips (Sunday 1 February 2026)
A fabulous day’s racing will take place at Leopardstown on Sunday with a host of Grade 1 races and some competitive handicap hurdles. We pick out our best bets across the bumper card here.
3.20 Leopardstown – Lossiemouth (1pt win – 5/4)
Lossiemouth bids for her first Irish Champion Hurdle at 3.20pm and with her stablemate State Man not taking his chance in the 2026 renewal then the three-times Cheltenham Festival heroine can record a 10th Grade 1 win in Sunday’s event. She will face old adversary Brighterdaysahead in this contest, but she showed when getting the better of that rival in the December Hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas that she is the classiest mare in training. She is likely to stalk her market rival through the race before unleashing her trademark speed to put the race to bed after the final flight of hurdles.
3.52 Leopardstown – Bunting (1pt win – 12/1)
Bunting may not have tasted victory since 2023, but the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old can get his first success over hurdles on Sunday in the hugely competitive 3.52pm contest. He’s often been talked about as a horse that could land a big handicap prize for the Closutton team, and he showed when third in the Cesarewitch on the Flat that he does have ability. His return over hurdles at Leopardstown over Christmas was promising and he’s been given a 1lb rise by the handicapper, but he could still make a notable challenge off 135 in this contest and he’s the selection in a devilishly difficult betting heat.
Musselburgh Racing Tips (Sunday 1 February 2026)
It’s a 12.55pm start at Musselburgh on Sunday, with seven races taking place during the afternoon. Here are our two best bets for the action in Scotland.
1.25 Musselburgh – Dedicated Hero (1pt win – 9/4)
Sandy Thomson’s Dedicated Hero made a pleasing debut over fences last time out, when finishing second at Ayr, and he can go one better in the 1.25pm contest and claim victory. He will face some notable rivals here with Intense Approach and Queens Gamble catching the eye, but Dedicated Hero showed when seventh in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham earlier in his career that he’s a smart performer, and he can continue his improvement over fences. He’s sure to come on for that first spin over fences, and if he can continue on an upward curve then he could well get the better of a few of his rivals, who may be in the handicapper’s grip.
3.05 Musselburgh – Rock My Way (1pt win – 5/2)
A winner of the Berkshire National at Ascot two outings ago, Rock My Way will bid for another notable staying prize at 3.05pm and is a leading contender for Joe Tizzard in the Edinburgh National. He will have the burden of top weight in this contest, which is sure to be energy-sapping, but this is likely to be much easier than his last run, which came in the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow. He wasn’t disgraced that day when eighth and now dropped 1lb by the handicapper he has a chance of returning to winning ways.
