Lingfield Racing Tips (Tuesday 10 February)
Lingfield’s is the busiest meeting on Tuesday with eight races going to post. Our lucky 15 best bets on the card come in both of the classified class 6 contests.
2.18 Lingfield – Conquest Of Power (1pt win – 5/2)
In a similar fashion to last season, Conquest Of Power has plummeted down the weights before showing signs of revival. Mark Usher’s gelding then picked up with a pair of runner-up finishes before winning this a year ago. The hope is that he skips those interim seconds with a victory straight away this season, as after finishing last at both Leicester and Newcastle, he was sixth of eight, but competitive, after 90 days off at Kempton. That came over a trip of 6f, which is on the short side of ideal for the selection. Back to this course and distance in classified company, he should be competing for victory once again.
2.48 Lingfield – Angelica K (1pt win – 7/4)
From a ratings perspective, Angelica K is one of the leading candidates for victory here. The daughter of Mastercraftsman won a Kempton handicap off a mark of 55 12 months ago, comparatively giddy heights to this quality of contest. Her form fell off markedly on turf during the autumn, but she ran promisingly in January returned to the all-weather. Having fallen down the handicap, she was fifth off just 51, but this classified contest gives her a winning chance. That the race’s conditions level the weights with lower-rated rivals ensures that she should be among the highest-quality horses running in this race and she should prove too strong for the opposition.
Ayr Racing Tips (Tuesday 10 February)
There is set to be plenty of friendly rivalry at Ayr on Tuesday between British and Irish trainers. As plenty of raiders have been prepared from across the Irish Sea, we have two best bets on the Ayr card.
2.35 Ayr – Dubhain (1pt win – 5/1)
This will be his debut over hurdles, but connections unknowingly pitted Dubhain against some serious rivals in bumpers. Stuart Crawford’s charge bumped into Ballyfad at Down Royal in November, with that horse since impressing over timber and heading to the Cheltenham Festival as a Grade 1 contender. Dubhain was just three lengths behind him that day and a similar distance behind Broadway Ted in December. That race was run at Ayr on heavy and the form has worked out terrifically. The winner claimed the Grade 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival, so Dubhain must have ability to have finished close behind two very talented victors, while his point-to-point winning form gives hope that he should take to jumping obstacles well under rules at the first time of asking.
3.05 Ayr – Kahavari (1pt win – 8/1)
He is yet to win since his debut, but the signs at Huntingdon were promising for Kahavari. The selection has thrice finished second since coming to the UK from seven starts. They included races in which he met some smart winners in novice company before a slow start to 2025/26. However, he looked to have turned a corner last time out, finishing second in a first-time tongue tie. He looked to be arriving with a winning run after the last before being outmuscled by a game winner, but it suggested that he will win races when conditions suit, as is the case again here up just 2lb in the handicap.
