Four tracks go racing on Tuesday, with the quartet of courses all based in England and Scotland. There is no shortage of competitive racing for punters, as Joe Napier’s Lucky 15 tips run at Lingfield and Carlisle.
Lingfield Racing Tips (Tuesday 11 August)
A pair of 0-85 handicaps headline Lingfield’s six-race all-weather card on Tuesday. We have two selections at the meeting in our lucky 15.
3.30 Lingfield – She Commands (1pt win – 7/1)
With every chance that she sees out this trip, She Commands can maintain her unbeaten all-weather record. She defied a penalty to win on return this season at Wolverhampton. The runner-up and third, both rated in the high 70s have won since, with both in receipt of 7b that day. The selection returned to turf at Royal Ascot next time out. The surface was not the issue in the Sandringham Stakes so much as the draw. She was clearly on the wrong side of the track, finishing third of those on the far side, but 20th of 30 overall. There was no shame in that though, and she has stamina in her pedigree for 1m2f. In this much easier contest, she can return to winning ways.
4.00 Lingfield – Charencey (1pt win – 9/4)
Second at this level the last twice, Charencey can make amends back on Polytrack. Ian Williams’ charge is not the force of old, when rated 75 at his peak. That much is evident in the fact he is racing in his third straight classified 0-50 contest. He was beaten by just a neck in each of the first two, the latest under today’s rider Billy Loughnane. His jockey is a big pointer to his chances though, with Loughnane seeking to become champion. Charency is the highest-rated in this field, should stay the trip based on his last run, and has previous all-weather form. He is a rock solid option to score.
Carlisle Racing Tips (Tuesday 11 August)
Racing in the north west takes place at Carlisle, with six races also in store. Two more of our lucky 15 best bets run at the venue.
4.15 Carlisle – Another Investment (1pt win – 7/2)
He is becoming a risky betting proposition after a run of three straight seconds, but Another Investment should get a return on recent form. Nigel Tinkler’s runner plummeted down the weights after a June 2025 win at Doncaster. His mark fell 16lb before a second back on Town Moore this June. He followed that up with a nose defeat over course and distance, then another runner-up effort, beaten by just a neck, back at Doncaster once more. He has gone back up 4lb this season, but it has been a gradual increase from the handicapper. He is still being given a chance and may belatedly return to the winners’ enclosure while in good nick.
4.45 Carlisle – Talismans Time (1pt win – 5/1)
Shipshape has been just that of late, but he may now be in the handicapper’s clutches. Conversely, Talismans Time may have now been found the right race by trainer Ed Bethell. The yard are in purple form of late and the son of Time Test has run respectably since pulling up on return at Musselburgh. His third at York over 1m6f was only his seventh career race, so he remains unexposed. The four-year-old was only fifth on the Knavesmire next time out, but appeared not to stay 2m. Back to 1m6f, and down 1lb in the handicap, he can defy top weight against lighter opposition.
