A relatively quiet day’s racing in the UK will see only three fixtures take place on Wednesday 21 January, as the action comes from Lingfield, Catterick and Kempton. We focus our attentions on the afternoon horse racing at Lingfield on the all-weather and Catterick over jumps and pick out our GG Lucky 15 tips for the day.
We preview both meetings below and select our four tips of the day.
Lingfield Racing Tips (Wednesday 21 January 2026)
Eight races make up Lingfield’s all-weather card and the action gets under way at 12.35pm and concludes at 4.08pm. We have two tips across the afternoon that can land the money.
2.38 Lingfield – Wedgewood (1pt win – 9/2)
A course-and-distance winner, Wedgewood has been struggling to recapture his best form of late, but Tony Carroll’s charge can bounce back to form on Wednesday and land victory in the 2.38pm. That aforementioned C&D win came off a mark of 55 and he takes his chance off 58 in this mediocre contest, and having shown a little more spark last time out when finishing fourth at Wolverhampton off 59 then the Carroll raider can return to winning ways here.
3.38 Lingfield – Mister Moet (1pt win – 7/2)
Scott Dixon’s Mister Moet was beaten two lengths into second place at Wolverhampton back in December, but drops down to class 6 company for the 3.38pm, and could be capable of returning to winning ways in this mediocre event. Rated in the mid 70s in his earlier days, he’s been finding life really tough off much higher marks, but having been eased in the ratings could well be capable of landing this off 59. Plenty of out of form rivals will take him on here, and whilst you can’t have huge confidence in him bagging the prize, he looks the best option on paper.
Catterick Racing Tips (Wednesday 21 January 2026)
The sole National Hunt fixture of the day comes from Catterick, which hosts seven races from 12.47pm. There’s some decent numbers in some of the contests during the afternoon, and we pick out our two best bets.
2.20 Catterick – Bathgate (1pt win – 5/1)
A three-and-three-quarter length winner at Sedgefield two outings ago, Phil Kirby’s Bathgate ran well off a 6lbs higher mark at Musselburgh last month, and he could be capable of more off the figure of 104. He is certainly a leading contender for the 2.20pm contest, if he can continue his excellent recent form and with able conditional Joe Williamson taking 3lbs off his back then he certainly warrants a chance in what is a thrilling betting heat for punters to enjoy.
2.50 Catterick – Defence Witness (1pt win – 8/1)
A winner on chasing debut at Cartmel, Defence Witness has struggled to get his head in front in recent outings, but Sam England’s charge can return to winning ways when landing the 2.50pm contest. He was second on his last outing at Catterick, and it appeared he was a bit tapped for toe that day, so the step up in trip beyond three miles here looks like it could be a huge positive. Still lightly-raced over fences, he’s one that could improve with his racing, and with the longer trip to aid his chance then he can land this prize.
