Just the four meetings take place on Tuesday, with York’s Ebor meeting just around the corner for the rest of the week.
However, it remains D-Day for Andrew Mount, who has remained busy with three best bets for the afternoon. His selections run at Lingfield, Roscommon and Wolverhampton.
Lingfield Racing Tips (Tuesday 18 August 2026)
Eight races take place at Lingfield on Tuesday, as Andrew has a best bet to follow in the opener.
2.30 Lingfield – Diamond Bay (1pt win – 7/2 Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
Amateur jockey Henry Callan has ridden 18 winners from just 42 rides since August 1ast last year (+£35.54 to a £1 level stake at SP), including nine from 16 on the all-weather. At Lingfield only his record on the all-weather reads 11111 (5-5) for a profit of £12.79. We were on the latest one of those winners – No Knee Never – back in April and I’m backing Diamond Bay to make it six from six. Tom Ward’s veteran is 21lb below his last winning all-weather mark and he ran with credit in a three-runner handicap at Newbury last time, finishing second at 8-1 behind 2-7 favourite Campeona (winner again since).
Roscommon Racing Tips (Tuesday 18 August 2026)
The only Irish meeting on Tuesday is at Roscommon. Andrew has a selection in race five at a significant each-way price.
7.15 Roscommon – Dragon Of Malta (0.5pt e/w – 22/1 Paddy Power, Virgin Bet, 20/1 Sky Bet)
Dragon Of Malta tends to come good at this time of year, recording form figures in August/September of 50464151339120241515020211 (7-25) for a profit of £10.91 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£18.99 at Betfair SP after commission, expected wins = 2.57, A/E = 2.72). When starting in the front two in the market his record reads 111041510211 (7-12) for a profit of £23.91 at SP. He’s not going to fall into that category unless there’s a serious gamble but he looked on his way back when a 20-1 fifth of 15 at the Galway Festival last month and, while we might not see the best of him until Listowel’s Harvest Festival – he won twice there last year in the space of 48 hours – I still want a small interest tonight.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Tuesday 18 August 2026)
Wolverhampton’s is the last of the Tuesday quartet of meetings to begin on Tuesday. Andrew has a tip for you in the finale.
8.00 Wolverhampton – Dance Time (1pt e/w – 7/1 Sky Bet, Paddy Power, 13/2 bet365)
The David Loughnane-trained Dance Time needs an all-weather surface, Class 5 or lower company and a recent outing (within the last six weeks). When these three stars align her record reads 15513313111 (6-11) for a lovely profit of £51.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£77.64 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 1.86, A/E = 3.22). She took her turf record to 0-13 when a modest second at Carlisle last time and she’s a major player now back at Wolverhampton for the first time since her close-up fourth to Shrimp Shady in Class 4 company in March.
