2025 Long Distance Hurdle Racecard
A three-and-a-half length winner of this race last season, Strong Leader will attempt to retain his crown for Olly Murphy on Friday, and he heads to Newbury on the back of a battling victory in the West Yorkshire Hurdle. Impose Toi was hugely impressive when bounding clear in an Aintree handicap hurdle last time out, but this is a notable step up for Nicky Henderson’s charge, however, he is notably on the upgrade, so has to be respected. Doddiethegreat will be the second shot fired by the Henderson gun and the Cheltenham Festival winner is a class act on his day, whilst former King George winner Hewick and Dan Skelton’s Take No Chances add more depth to the race.

Long Distance Hurdle Tips
A real battler, STRONG LEADER will certainly get Sean Bowen working during this event, but he always picks up for pressure and if the gallop is a strong then he could well storm through his rivals to take this prize in emphatic style. Take No Chances was runner-up in the West Yorkshire Hurdle and could have to settle for second place again, while Ahoy Senor could enjoy the switch away from fences and get the better of his rivals to finish third.
