Ludlow & Punchestown Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Wednesday 4 February 2026

Ludlow & Punchestown Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Wednesday 4 February 2026

Five horse racing fixtures take place on Wednesday 4 February, but we focus on two of the National Hunt fixtures for our Lucky 15 tips, as we head to Ludlow and Punchestown.

Two competitive cards are on offer at the UK & Irish meetings, and we pick out our four best bets across the brace of fixtures here.

Ludlow Racing Tips (Wednesday 4 February 2026)

Seven races feature during Ludlow’s jumps card with four hurdle contest and a three chase events, which includes a hunter chase at the end of the afternoon. Here’s the best two bets at the meeting.

2.58 Ludlow – Rodney (1pt win – 5/4)

Impressive wins at Leicester and Hereford has seen Kerry Lee’s Rodney rocket up the handicap, and the in-form seven-year-old will bid for a hat-trick of wins in the 2.58pm at Ludlow on Wednesday. He will have the burden of top weight and has to contend with a 10lbs higher mark than his last outing, but he shaped like there’s still plenty to come and is more than capable of landing this prize. A winner by over four lengths last time out, Lee’s charge will need a career best here, but he’s sure to put up a bold bid once again.

3.33 Ludlow – Dramatic Encore (1pt win – 8/1)

Well beaten in a Sandown class 3 contest last time out, Harry Derham’s Dramatic Encore will enter slightly calmer waters at Ludlow on Wednesday, and have fallen slightly in the handicap has the potential land the money in the 3.33pm contest. What looks a tough race to work out on paper, Derham’s charge has been dropped 1lb to a mark of 114, so has certainly got an interesting chance, if he can recapture the form her showed when winning his only career start at Huntingdon nearly a year ago. Many line up with chances here, but if Paul O’Brien can maintain a prominent position throughout then Dramatic Encore could well get his head in front.

Punchestown Racing Tips (Wednesday 4 February 2026)

Seven races at Punchestown take place on Wednesday, with the action all beginning with a Cross Country event at 12.28pm, with the final race getting underway at 3.58pm. We have two tips for the jumps action across the Irish Sea.

12.28 Punchestown – Conflated (1pt win – 100/30)

A former Grade 1 winner in his prime, Conflated may not be the force of old, but Gordon Elliott’s veteran still continues to perform to a high level and he could prove good enough to land the ThatPrizeGuy.co.uk P.P. Hogan Memorial Cross Country Chase at 12.28pm. He’s not found himself in front much in recent times, but he’s shown a solid level of form in the cross country races he’s contested, and he can land this event. The likes of Vanillier and The Goffer are notable adversaries, but Conflated is the top-class contender in the race, so receiving 7lbs from Vanillier he should down that rival, whilst stablemate The Goffer has often struggled for consistency.

1.03 Punchestown – Gaoth Chuil (1pt win – 4/1)

Second off a mark of 133 in a competitive handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival last season, Gaoth Chuil then ran a big race to finish third in a Grade 3 event at Punchestown. Ted Walsh’s charge has been seen over fences in recent times and struggled to land any sort of blow, but switching to the handicap sphere on Wednesday could bring on huge improvement. Given a mark of 125, she has to stand a superb chance, if she can emulate her hurdles runs over the larger obstacles. Potentially well handicapped, if she can deliver over fences, Walsh’s charge is the best bet on the card.
