With the variety of tracks covered by the ITV Racing cameras this weekend, Matty Sutcliffe has decided to tip one horse at each of Beverley, Chester and Sandown for his value punts on Saturday.

1:50 Sandown – Sky Bet Extra Places Every Day Handicap (Class 3) (3yo+ 0-95) – Accidental Agent 12/1 1pt EW 3 places
The fire evidently still burns with ACCIDENTAL AGENT who clocked the highest finishing speed percentage in a class two handicap at Newbury last time out in a race dominated by the front running Lethal Levi. He shaped as if needing the run when slowly away and detached by a couple lengths in rear, but he clocked the quickest final two furlongs, the only horses to clock a sub twelve second furlong in the last, and he also clocked the second quickest furlong between 4-3f and 3-2f. Times can often mean zilch within context, but that does prove to us that he’s still evidently capable of mixing it with some solid 90-rated types on the clock, and his RPR of 94 there further suggests he’s capable of taking a race of this nature off his lowering mark.
The former Queen Anne winner drops to class three company on turf for the first time since 2017 and is effectively running off a mark of 86 with Mia Nicholls’ claim, and this is undoubtedly his best chance of returning to the winners enclosure in a long time. With a strong pace forecast, it won’t be as much of a hindrance should he break a touch slowly away in rear and the return to a right handed track will be in his favour.
2:05 Beverley – William Hill Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes (Listed) – Albasheer 8/1 1pt WIN
ALBASHEER was massively unsuited by his track position in the Constantine Handicap at York last time out when drawn widest of all in stall nineteen, given the huge far-side bias across the meeting, particularly in the sprints.
Despite that bias, Albasheer caught the eye when making good headway under minimal urgings from Luke Morris up the nearside and though he’s worse off at the weights with Commanche Falls, the three-length gap that day flattered the latter who was drawn perfectly in stall one. I’d have Albasheer somewhat overpriced as the outsider of the field with the favourite Commanche Falls on that evidence, and he’s likely to get a strong toe into this contest from stall six with almost all of the field preferring to go forward early on.
His RPRs of 111 and 110 this season suggest a win in Listed company is within reach, though I’d be slightly worried that connections have the Ayr Gold Cup in mind for him given he’s only a pound above his 3/4L 4th in the race last season. I’ll have to trust that he’ll be ridden to win tomorrow, and the return to a stiff five furlong will suit. Should he fail to come good here, then I’ll no doubt return to backing him for the Ayr Gold Cup and small ante-post win bet at 20/1 wouldn’t go amiss.
2:40 Chester – Livescore Bet Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+) – Physique 12/1 1pt EW 5 places
I found this race almost impossible to decipher, lingering on the temptation of backing siblings Spirit Genie and Yannifer for a solid amount of time. However, the nature of Chester will be extremely suited to PHYSIQUE for former jockey Micky Fenton, who posted a career best RPR of 95 when gamely winning a 57K feature handicap at Galway earlier this month. The former Paul & Oliver Cole inmate came alive around the Galway bend and drew clear of the field, but looked to be swallowed up before fending off the challengers, beating two previous winners of the contest.
He’s still rated below his peak mark on this side of the Irish Sea, and his third behind Snellen and Lady Lunette who reversed that form with each other when finishing 1st and 2nd in a 52K handicap at Leopardstown suggests this mark of 89 is more than workable for Physique.
The newly-formed yard are having their first runner overseas, and given he’s in the best form of his life it would be folly not to think this hardy gelding won’t go well once more, with his sharp early gate speed a big plus around here from stall eight.
