Saturday’s ITV Racing coverage centres on the meetings at Musselburgh and Haydock. Across the two tracks, nine races will be broadcast live, with a perfect mix for flat and jumps fans.
GG tipster Joe Napier has picked out our Lucky 15 best bets for Saturday, with all four running on terrestrial TV.
Musselburgh Racing Tips (Saturday 4 April)
The Listed Goliath Cup is a new race to Saturday’s card at Musselburgh, though their entire card is hugely competitive. Our two Lucky 15 selections run in handicap company at the Scottish track.
1.55 Musselburgh – Persuasion (1pt win – 9/1)
Last year’s winner Persuasion is in the veteran stage now, but he is 1lb lower than for his 2025 success. He has also shown competitive form since then off higher marks than this one. His victory last season came on his only visit to Musselburgh so far. Since then, he has finished a close fourth at Epsom, as well as second at Haydock, off marks of 90 and 88 respectively. He competes here off 86, having won off 87 12 months back, and has enjoyed a similar preparation by blowing the cobwebs away on the all-weather last month. With that in mind, he can bely his advancing nine years.
3.05 Musselburgh – Dancingwithmyself (1pt win – 13/2)
Michael Bell’s yard are in sensational form, winning with four of their last six runners. He and Oisin Murphy also have a 21% strike rate when teaming up, meaning Dancingwithmyself appeals greatly in the Queen’s Cup Handicap. The five-year-old was beaten only a head on her return last season before improving throughout the campaign. She won twice, including on her first turf start over 1m6f at Goodwood in September. Soft ground then compromised her chance at Nottingham to conclude the campaign. However, given how progressive she was last term, and the fact she goes well fresh, she could continue to climb the ranks here.
Haydock Racing Tips (Saturday 4 April)
There are Challenger Series finals at Haydock on Saturday, which have attracted some smart fields. We have two best bets to follow on their card.
2.46 Haydock – Blue Carpet (1pt win – 4/1)
All nine runners here have a win or a second within their last two starts. There is no question this will prove competitive, but Blue Carpet looks the likeliest to continue blazing a trail. The Skelton-trained runner has form of 2121 over hurdles so far. Those first two figures alone demonstrated improved efforts compared to his bumper form. However, he has stepped forward again since going up to 3m the last twice. He was a close second at Newbury, then won after a 90-day break at Wetherby in February. That win came on soft ground, but he has run well with good in the going description too. He looks to have every chance of winning again.
3.20 Haydock – Triple Trade (1pt win – 16/1)
Making his second start in veterans’ company, after winning the first, Triple Trade can spring a surprise. After struggling in 2024/25, he has enjoyed a fine season this term, winning twice. The first came on his return off a much reduced mark at Cheltenham. The most recent was at Sandown in January, when claiming a four-runner race in this series. Since that second victory, he has been third and fourth in two highly competitive Grade 3 handicaps at Cheltenham and Newbury. The form of both has worked out well and he has been dropped 1lb by the handicapper to boot. Although this 17-runner line-up has numeral depth at the very least, it should be an easier assignment than recent races the selection has run in.
