Naas, Plumpton & Wolverhampton Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Monday 15 December

Andrew Mount has a trio of tips for the horse racing on Monday 15 December, as he looks to hit the ground running this week. His three selections run at Naas, Plumpton and Wolverhampton, so check out his best bets below.

Monday’s racing will see four fixtures take place with Andrew opting to head to three of them for his best bets. We look through his selections meeting by meeting.

Naas Racing Tips (Monday 15 December 2025)

A bumper eight races takes place at Naas and Andrew Mount heads to the opening contest at 11.50am and has an eye-catching 40/1 each-way play for Willie Mullins.

11.50 Naas – Magic McColgan (0.5pt e/w – 40/1 William Hill, 33/1 generally)

Magic McColgan landed a soft-ground mares’ maiden hurdle at Punchestown in January despite jumping markedly out to her left on the right-handed track, with her wayward hurdling getting worse as the race progressed. Willie Mullins’ six-year-old wasn’t disgraced when a 100-1 12th of 23 in the Dawn Run at the Cheltenham festival on what was only her second career start on a left-handed track, the other one resulting in a heavy-ground bumper victory at Leopardstown. It was surprising to see her asked to race right-handed again at Perth last April but no surprise to see her beaten into a 13-length third as the 8-11 favourite. She made her chase/debut reappearance at right-handed at Cork last month, pulling up after a bad mistakes and subsequent tacks issues (lost irons/saddle slipped), and is worth chancing at a huge price now going left-handed again.

Plumpton Racing Tips (Monday 15 December 2025)

Seven races get under way over the jumps at Plumpton at 12.30pm with Andrew’s best bet on the card running in the handicap hurdle at 2.00pm.

2.00 Plumpton – Enjoy D’Allen (1pt win – 5/1 bet365, 9/2 generally)

This 3m1f handicap hurdle looks tight on paper, with the five runners priced up at 2-1, 7-2, 7-2, 4-1 and 11-2 (stop press: 4-1 shot Glengolly has just been scratched). I feel obliged to paly though, as I want to oppose San Pedro, one of the 7-2 shots. I’m a fan of Chris Gordon’s eight-year-old but not at this time of year – he’s 0-14 in November to January but four from ten in February/March. The market is headed by David Bridgwater’s Avada Kedvara, a winner at Taunton last time, but that victory came on much faster going and his trainer has a modest record with last time out winners, with only nine of the 96 qualifiers scoring since the beginning of 2016 for a loss of £56.15 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 16.86, A/E = 0.53). Nick Gifford’s Drumheller improved for his comeback 35-length six at Fontwell when finding only one too good over course and distance last time but that was a weak six-runner contest run in a slow time and the easy winner, fourth, fifth and sixth were all beaten out of sight next time (the third has yet to run since). This leaves pace angle Enjoy D’Allen as a plausible bet. The veteran is reverting from fences after a modest third at Huntingdon last time but won unchallenged at Fakenham the time before and the Proform speed figure he received for his latest hurdles outing – an 8-1 fourth at Newton Abbot in late September – is the best last time out hurdles figure on show.

Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Monday 15 December 2025)

Four hours of competitive all-weather action occurs on a nine-race card at Wolverhampton, so find Andrew’s best bet for the meeting here.

5.30 Wolverhampton – Family Values (0.5pt e/w – 22/1 generally)

Stall 10 makes life difficult for Family Values in this 8.6f nursery but there’s compensation in the price and I still want to chance Dylan Cunha’s filly to small stakes. She could only finish ninth of 13 in a 7f maiden at Chelmsford last time, but she needed that for a handicap mark, and the daughter of Tiem Test is bred to appreciate today’s longer trip and switch to Tapeta. The first-time blinkers are an interesting addition – her trainer is five from 24 with this headgear for a profit of £21.75 to a £1 level stake at SP – including three from five with those making the running. She’s been ridden patiently in her three previous starts but I’m expecting George Wood to make more use of her this evening.
